today I did a short (6m), slow paced, ride with a friend who just got her bike (previously mentioned). Anyway, outside of realizing I hate riding slow unless it's during CM, I'm using this more to rag on the shop near us. She took it back to get the wheels trued because they weren't, but they quoted her it in the job description for the labor. So I go over and I ask her what they said and if they did it. She said that they did both in 10 minutes but told her the brakes will probably eventually rub the wheel again because they're cheap...? And apparently all the adjusting they were doing were to calipers and not the wheels (wasn't there, going off being told).

I don't think the shop owner knows what truing a wheel means, and apparently this lady was the owner. I think they just spaced her calipers further apart so they wouldn't rub, but I didn't have her get off and look because I only cared so much.

Burn it down.

Ouch, you must be hurting for the early price drop.... I am a believer through of its 3D capabilities; but the lack of games and the intro price...

It was a gift, I didn't have to pay.... PLUS if you own a 3DS by september 1st they are giving away 20 free downloadable games! Tho, to be honest, I haven't even purchased anything for it yet. Thought about Zelda, but I don't really want to pay $40 for a game I beat 10 years ago. But I love it's other functions, and to all you people who say the 3D hurts your eyes? I leave mine of 90% of the time!

Today I assembled my new bike.. But I need a new tube and didnt realize it until after the shop closed. So I'm gonna ride it with my boyfriend's front wheel tonight.

Oil and gas has such a stranglehold on the global economy, it's hard to invest, even long term in green energy. The smallest hint of uptick in a company and it's bought up and outright by the major oil producers. The technology disappears. Global demand creates a disincentive.

Though, I do like wind farms, even though they kill birds.

And the notion of the stock symbol itself sparks some interest.

Yesterday me and three other bros attempted to eat 70 wings and failed. But now we have leftovers to energize us before we go to Six Flags tomorrow. Too boss.

Today I was told to "get a real bike" by some random choadie in a full kit as he passed me on a climb. About 10 minutes later I see him on the side of the road with a flat tire, talking on his cell phone so I rolled up and asked him if he needed any help and he responds, "That would be great".

"You shouldn't have been a dick to me back there", I said as I rode off.

today I opened my package from Retrogression, which contained a 1/8th 18t cog for the Mash and a set of rb002s for the Kilo. The 002s are really tiny looking, less reach than I was expecting, but from spending 20 minutes on my rollers they seem really comfortable thus far.

Also, Specialized Roubaix tape is awesome, it's stretchy, has a felt-like texture but has padding like cork, and best of all has no adhesive, just a grippy rubber strip on the back.

The shipping box was of particular interest. It was vertically compliant while retaining excellent lateral and torsional rigidity.

These wings are ginormous and awesome. We've only been there twice and the waitress already remembers us 'coz we always order an un-finishable amount of wings. Last time we ordered 150 (though we had a few more people).

Half price wing Thursday is my kryptonite.

Finally found a little 4 inch long 15mm wrench at lowes for a couple bucks. Really mad that the tropical storm got it's ass owned by the islands before getting here. Was looking forward to a few days of clouds to kill this heat.

Today during my early morning ride, on the return trip I went back on campus, yeah I forgot some work in my desk in the office. I saw some sqrl get hit by a longboarder (seriously, making us look bad, especially when you consider he had a sector 9, the kilo tt of longboards), the board hit her in the ankle and knocked her to the ground hard. Poor thing got left by the longboarder who simply asked if "you're okay?" and rushed away to class; without even waiting for her answer. I asked her if she was okay and she said yes and started limping away. I asked her again, and she said "yes I'm fine". From the sound of her voice and condition, I can tell she was holding back tears.

Out of the bunch, there's always good ones who know how to control their adrenaline.

today my neck and back still hurt like a mofo from getting hit by that jeep a few weeks ago.
