Today I flatted five minutes into my commute. Five minutes into my commute is the northern end of a six-mile ride through the hood. While pulling the glass out of my tire, I realized I didn't have my hand pump. So I lit up a smoke and waited for the bus. Bummed because the morning weather was perfect.

bike so good is getting some decaleur stuff...

stayed up late installing my VO rando rack and trying to modify an army surplus bag to fit on it. i'm most of the way there i just need to sew on some velcro straps, accessory pockets, and the decaleur loop, then a better closure system. then i have to replace the cardboard i cut with plastic. so i basically haven't done anything.

Today, I am sick. Still had to go into work, until now (8-2) :(

Leukybear 09-30-11 12:31 PM

Today going to work, I nearly t boned a student cyclist on a showeet colorful phixie at an intersection on campus when I had the right of way, they appearantly came sprinting out of a parking lot apparently out of no where, disregarding the intersection with at least even a glance of incoming traffic; there was nothing even obstructing their view of me coming; damn undergrads. We both swerved, me into the opposite lane and the student lost control and t boned the curve, going over the bars.
Having a soft spot for helping people, especially cyclists, I ended up helping him up and patching him up; couldn't say that for his dented and cracked front "STARS" deep dished/ lipped wheel. I thought nobody would buy those bikes and wheels.

I bought one for a college bike a couple years ago. It was what lead me to this forum and why I love cycling now. :innocent:
That said. It's still here, just a beater/rain/winter bike now. And those wheels blow.

edit: Srs. We want pics. Don't be a tease like Leuky.

I spy The Brave Little Toaster and Doug. What are the other ones? Also, as soon as my wife sees the Toaster tattoo, you'll be her new hero.

Its on my facebook... I have quite a few... Mr. Rogers, Jareth from labyrinth, littlefoot, arthor, inspector gadget, ducktails, Tommy from rugrats, Beaker, Doug, Goonies, Chip n' Dale, Count Von Count, Brave Little Toaster, Ahhh Real Monsters, Are you afraid of the dark, Little Mermaid, and lastly The Magic Schoolbus.

Tattoo's cost money, and right now I am addicted to bikes... but I really should finish my sleeve.

jimmytango 09-30-11 06:10 PM

Yeah, I have but one and my wife hasn't gotten any in 3 years. too expensive right now.

Dcv 09-30-11 06:15 PM

Today I accidentally unclipped Look Keos on a steep downhill (stupid, twisted foot to try to eliminate squeak at wrong time). Anyway, no way in hell to ever clip back in single sided keos when pedals are spinning fast. Almost bit the dust and had to use the emergency brake.

I think I'll keep eggbeaters on my (other) brakeless bike, those are easier to clip back in.

Dannihilator 09-30-11 06:24 PM

Today I got a solid 65 miles in.
