I was riding next to a 14' high tallbike as I look up to speak to a friend I swerve right, tag someone and fall down. I rolled it off with only a tiny bruise on my shoulder. Another friend went down twice. It was a wild time.

Just got back from my first road ride with my wife since coming here, we started around 5am and we went a little over a 83mi and our route took us in a large scenic loop around metropolitan San Diego. We averaged ~36 - 34mph according to my knog nerd (my edge 800 is supposedly supposed to arrive from garmin on monday hopefully) and my old cateye v3 on my wife's bike. It was a bit slow paced at first as it's been quite a while since I rode with her on a roadie and I wasn't sure what her limits were but she picked up pace pretty quickly. I'm so proud of her as she kept up the entire time! We wrapped up our ride by stopping in downtown La Jolla for lunch before riding back home. We're going to watch moneyball later; it's only obligatory because we're east bay natives!

Can someone explain this homemade headset press thing? I've never done a headset, hut it is now the only thing on my bike I haven't fixed with my own two hands, and it's next on the list.
Today I babysat my friend Joey's 7 month old daughter. *swoon*

But without a laziness fee. I used to have a similar set up and it works a charm before my park tool kit came with one.

You and the little lady are in the wrong line of work if you're not Euro Pros!
You're gonna be sad when you see your first average speed on Garmin Connect.

Oops. I didn't even see you were riding with a Knog Nerd! That would probably make you guys seem significantly faster.
BTW, have you ever been to that burger place next to the Coffee Cup?

The Burger Lounge? That's where we by chance stopped for lunch today! I die for the onion rings there! It's too bad my peeve of eating healthy keeps me from eating there or avoiding my favorite trans fat filled foods usually. But today I earned my gluttonous meal.

Today I bought fenders for the Kilo TT. Thanks Calv for recommending the SKS Raceblades, they fit great!

Went to a basic bike maintenance workshop. Met some nice people, practiced changing my first flat, messed with the brakes and wheels a little bit. Learned how to clean the chain and lube it up. Great stuff.

yup, that's the one. I've been there 2 or 3 times, it's actually really good. Their chicken finger-ish things on a stick are excellent as well.

Today I was able to save the hub, was a bent axle. Had to cut the set nuts and the axle, had an axle. Popped in some new bearings and new set nuts on the drive side, and all is good.

Lounged around in the grass at Lover's Point today after riding my bike over there.
Saw some kids cruising by on FGs, one with a bright ass red arrospok. That's like the third occurrence of me seeing some riders around town. I need to make friends with these people and see what the hell they do for fun here.

Today I sold my DP18 wheel set, now my frame sits upside down, sad and wheel-less. Pumped for my new wheel set to arrive from Scrod. Good thing I'm sick and can't really ride it anyways.
