Today I spent several hours hunting all over Spokane for a front brake. One shop didn't know what a dual pivot caliper was. ಠ_ಠ . Not a single shop had one in stock that wasn't part of an expensive set. Finally found a shop that could 24hr me one from Seattle. Riding brakeless for one day was enough to convince me that I prefer a brake.
Also I have a feeling thirdgenbird worked at one of the shops that lectured me on the phone for 5 minutes that a single pivot would be just good
(All in good fun 3gbird; I'm sure the nicer singles do a great job but for what I can afford a dual is going to be the best bang for my buck)

Didn't want to wait for shipping :/ My snowless days are numbered here and I want to be able to ride as much as possible before it starts to stick. It snows just about every day now but it hasn't accumulated.
Better ask for rollers for Christmas!

Today I commuted on my Cannondale M300. Found out more specs about it. It's actually a 94 I believe. Has a neat head tube decal. The commute actually took almost double of what it used too on my Kilo TT, and it's way more sluggish but the thing was actually very enjoyable. I didn't have to worry about anything! Pretty much rode over everything with this bike haha.

the single pull vs dual pull banter is ridiculous on BFSSFG lately.
can you lock up a single pull? yes, just like a dual pull. the difference is modulation. dual pulls require less hand strength and therefore easier to modulate resulting in better control.
initially.
if you dont have girl hands after an hour you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. seriously.

Today my Mavic Zxelliums came in!

They fit really well. Psyched to try them when I can...

decided to drop by BFSSFG and do some lurking after a long time.
Saw some nice and not so nice bike pics.
Missed having a sweet fixie.
Considered getting another sweet fixie.

That Paramount is probably better than whatever fixie you were thinking about getting. I <3 it.

Thank you. I agree. I still want a sweet fixie to keep it company. Thinking of getting a beater one just for crap weather days.

Removed the stickers from my new rims. Much better, IMO.

Ok, I'll stop posting pics of a non-fg now, promise

Picked up my road frame from the LBS (bought a headset & got installed). They were OOS of standard 1 1/8 headsets when I dropped it off so they had to order one. They ordered me a Cane creek but apparently they ordered the most expensive 110 series headset lol. Little more than I wanted to spend tho it was my fault for not specifiying but they didn't ask either. Oh well, at least installation was free and they've always treated me right. Also got my wheelset retensioned/trued. Waiting to grab some new bars/seatpost then I should almost have it complete.
Also got some risers for my leader. Had some stratos bullhorns that I ordered a few months back but found I really didn't like them. Actually like the way they feel even if think they look kinda dumb imo.

Today I woke up to ride to class. Hit 2 massive holes with my rear wheel, got run off the road because there was nowhere else for me to be, and then got a nice flat tire, on the one day I didn't pack my spare tube/tools. Great start to the day.

Pretty much the exact same thing happened to me about a month ago. I had to walk my **** about three miles after I flatted.
