A Philo degree is about as useful as a degree in Classical Opera or Art History. I know people with all of them and they work at Starbucks and Urban Outfitters. That being said, Do what you want. I started school to be a history teacher and realized that, although I love history and teaching, I hate desk jobs. I decided to go to culinary school because I love cooking and I'm good at it. Fast forward 7 years. I've worked at some of the world's best restaurants, and am in the process of opening a restaurant as Sous Chef, I'm starting a gourmet doughnut business with a friend, and I'm going to consult on the opening of a butcher/bake shop. Do what you want to do, and it will be better.

jmo, but unless you're learning to actually make something or how to make money for other people, most degrees only qualify you to get more degrees.

me? psych degree to hospital (changing diapers on adults) to dumping serial killers on their heads (muscle at psych center) to law enforcement.....*sigh*

if i had it all to do over again? nursing school for LPN in high school, straight to my RN and be able to go anywhere in the country.....

And the owner has a starnut in it...

There's a possibility the inside is lined with metal through... just putting it out there.

Today I came across an undergrad riding on a pretty sweet same year paddywagon on campus today; caught up to him and went right up next to him to say "nice bike" and he said "you too" with a chuckle while looking down at mine.

I just picked up my wife from the airport and treated her to her favorite home cooked meal anticipating her to come through the door. Consomme, beef wellington topped with bearnaise and greens, topped off with heaping helpings of red velvet yam cake; all made from scratch.

Like the saying goes, even if you could, you probably shouldn't. Short - distance mode?

As a chef who is married to a vegetarian, I approve of this message, yet am jealous because my wife would never eat that.

Today I *****ed on Twitter about how much a SRAM groupset costs, and my friend who works on a bike shop texted me the price he can get it for me (what the shop pays; no markup). Still expensive, but tempting.

If you can afford it, go for it. What group did you have in mind?

Do it! I've considered getting an internship or mailroom gig there or something just to get cheap stuff. Their world headquarters is right by Division and Halsted, so it'd be worth a shot.

I have the money, (just the Apex group, nothing fancy) but don't know if I can justify the expense given I just bought myself a macbook air two weeks ago and we need a new couch and i have a little more credit card to pay off and and and...

Anyway, today I am really ****ing annoyed with my husband.

Oof macbook airs are really expensive... but tempting; do want!

You can always go the way of 2nd hand groups or even slowly accumulate each part at a time on ebay; nothing wrong with them while saving yourself a couple more bucks.

Sexy. Very similar looking to what I'm looking at for my next build. Got a spec sheet for us?
