TONIGHT I - finally got my seatpost exactly where i want it
then was ambushed by one of the sales reps employed by my company
with a joint
took the long way home
delightful
EDIT: And came home to roast chicken, zucchini and onions, and a dance with dragons
what up life, how'd you get so great so quick?

made some minor adjustments. tighter chain, raised saddle/stem (had room to move a spacer below it, which was on top), wore cycling shorts for the first time ever and learned I still need to htfu (Deda CronoNero Lowrider still beating the **** out of my hand muscles).
I feel much more efficient pedaling with the raised saddle, I always felt I could use a bump up, but didn't bother because I'm a lazy sob and didn't want to raise the stem as well (seriously lazy I know) or ride that aggressively. Feels great, though somehow with the adjustment being probably 10mm on both ends, completely different. I almost felt like I was on a different bike. I love it but will take some getting used to. Also I felt like my cycling shorts were trying to turn me into a woman and that passing cars should've tipped me on the way. No idea how anyone wears those for rides under 20miles, felt like I was going to slide off my saddle too when I was wiping my forehead/handless.
also further reaffirmed that the soma frames have the most delicate paint job on the planet. barely started to slip off a walgreens trash can and made a nice 3" long rubble scratches that lightly nicked the paint (as if it had hit gravel after a crash). Had also previously scratched it from hanging it on my bike hangers and from when the wind knocked it over once while taking a picture (that also went through the cc). The thing does not take punishment very well and would explain how the first one shipped to me arrived with a gash on the headtube.
yesterday I dropped my leader fork off to get cut by a LBS. told them I wanted to add 30mm of spacers after the headset and woke up with the fear that they would cut the steerer tube at 30mm up instead of 30mm up+stem then cut. so now I'm just waiting for them to open so my anxiety will go away.

If they're dumb enough to do that I will personally come drive a rental car through the front window of the shop.

Got my GR-9s in and installed them. Wasn't long before I realized that my clipping in issue was definitely the old stock pedals. Now I need to try and bend the clips a bit to get them to not kill my big toe.

Rode to work. Still can't get used to OTS without hoods (had a roadbike). I think it may be time to get some bullhorns.
