(There apparently is a motorcycle parking area with sturdy wooden posts and I think heavy chain.) Should be fun though - 50+ miles each way will make for my first official century. Worst case scenario I guess is we walk around with our bikes and head back home.
Make sure to eat a ton and drink plenty of water, also, I'd stay away from fair food.

Today I biked 5.6km to the nearest burger king ate two woppers and biked 5.6km back to work in under 20 minutes with one climb on the way back, also this is my first post i've never felt so proud. Now back to the depressing life of database management at a pvc pipe factory.

Today I lost my wallet while riding my bike, I realized it wasnt there when I got to work.. I rode my bike home, looked around, rode back to work to see if I could find it.. then was calling PNC to freeze my accounts when a the director of a Continuing Education Association emailed saying he found my wallet and to come pick it up. If I wasn't in state college, I probably would have been screwed, nice people rock.

last nite i got a call from an unfamiliar number on the drive home from work. i figured it was work related so i answered and got "Who is this?!?" from a surly sounding hillbilly. i responded with, "No, who is THIS?". The hillbilly says that he is looking for his wife (oh, i could not resist), so i come back with, "She's a little busy now. Want me to have her call you back?". Apparently, the hillbilly was intoxicated and has anger issues so he proceeded to threaten my life in ways that only the characters in Deliverance could imagine. i tell they guy that he can have his wife back when i'm finished with her, end the call, and block his number. later, i felt bad for his wife when the hillbilly finally makes it home.

today I...

stayed out too late drinking, biked home fairly sloshed and then had a dream that my bike was stolen and woke up all emotional lol.

then...

was asked by the subway employee to take my bike outside. I told them I was leaving as soon as I got my sandwich, they asked again, I explained again, they gave in. I made sure to go later in the evening (2:30ish) and while the store was basically empty.

Same thing happened to me when I met someone up at Whataburger place a week ago, only I had my bike leaned up against a booth in the very back, in a completely empty store. I would've locked it up outside but there was absolutely nowhere I could fit my small u lock around there. I went outside to look again, found nothing, so just left.

That's great news, especially after all the bad luck you've been having lately. It's sad that we all have such low expectations about our fellow human beings that we are actually surprised when someone does the right thing. I hope you do the same if you find yourself in a similar situation.

Nice.

It doesn't hurt to put your name and your email or phone number on stuff. You'd be amazed at how much stuff is found by nice people who simply can't find the owner. I found a track sack at the velodrome a few weeks ago. Wanted to return it, but had no idea to whom it belonged. It was given to the velodrome in hopes that the owner comes looking for it.

Today I'm feeling the effects of nearly 2 weeks of none stop partying and bike riding, sometimes both at the same time. <3 LA.

Probably 300+ Miles, 3 massive cramps including my first hamstring cramp(sitting at my desk!) 5 hours of sleep max and way to many Tecates and PBR's to count my body is starting to hate me. It doesn't help that i've some how managed to go from cruising everywhere to smashing decently hard most of the time.

Oh, and tonight I'm riding ~ 20miles each way to a bonfire at the Beach.

Hairnet where you at son? you coming?

Tried out a new bike shop today. Love that it's only about 3 miles from my house, but sadly it is rather mediocre.

PASSAGE RIDE!!!

I'm not as much of a partier, plus going to the beach takes me 20 minutes and the Passage ride is like 10 miles there + 30 miles or riding

That sounds awesome. If I lived in LA I'd totally invite myself along.

Today I rode 16 miles, 16mph average speed (including stops), 24mph max speed. Who knew there were such gnarly hills in Illinois?

I think I'm getting in better shape?

installed and wrapped some deda lowrider bars on my soma. my hands were not used to the positioning required to ride with them and I was getting a ****load of hand cramps/pain (plus I left without gloves). probably only did 12 miles and was very happy to make it home
