Today I'm starting to get tired of having friends/roommate that play 3hrs of Halo every day. It would be less annoying if we didn't have a projector that requires having all the lights off and windows shut and covered. My room is pitch black, 75 degrees, smells like cheezits and energy drinks, and the only sounds are gunfire, explosions, and expletives. The bulb in the projector was burnt out for most of last week and I guess I lost my tolerance.

I installed them and ran to my friends house for Walking Dead. Now I start on a 4 page paper and 5 minute presentation due Tuesday morning.

I was wondering how a brake would look/fit on the Assault bars. Is your grip completely on or what?

I was guessing a dance related injury for some reason, :)

Heal quickly!

I only wish it was dancing.

Thanks.

Just took off my front (and only) brake.

My original plan was to take the stock lever/caliper in to a LBS to see what I would need to install my Paul lever. After taking it off, I decided to ride it around a bit. I think I am plenty confident/competent enough to ride safely without brakes. I don't remember the last time I actually used it, so I doubt I'll notice the difference. That is until I need it, then I'll regret doing all of this at 3am.

The grip is completely on, but I hate the way the brake lever fits. The clamp is right where the bar starts to curve down, so it sits a little crooked. It looks okay when you're not using it, but once you pull the lever, it pulls in a weird crooked way. I use my front brake so little that I might ditch it, just not sure I want to hear all the "that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard" BS from the girlfriend... I'll take some better photos in the next week or so either way.

^Would twisting the lever lower help? It looks like as you pull it right now, it pulls upward past the bar.. ?

Oh and.. sick 722.

calbob76 11-21-11 02:47 PM

if you take the brake off put foot retention on!

Thanks, I love it. It doesn't pull upward past the bar, but it just doesn't pull straight on and it feels weird. I did rotate it a bit from its original position, perhaps I'll try some more.

Good thought. I've got Sylvan pedals/RG Straps on my Christmas list which I'll likely receive. I'll probably keep the brake for the remainder of the riding season.

I sound like a spoiled eight year old right now.

Today I got back on the bike and went for a pootle in the snow... don't tell my wife or she will probably hobble me.

I wish! I'm going to be working with the support team. I kind of want to take some classes and take a look at the software side of things though.

GMJ 11-21-11 04:26 PM

Yeah I wish I was interested in that kind of stuff because I know those guys make a good living. I looked into basic programming, but it wasn't for me.

Tonight is my first night of break from class, and I'm actually going to do some homework and be on top of things for once.

Seeing my CS bachelor degree friends graduating and moving straight to 6 figure jobs makes me wish I liked it too. I'm glad things are looking up for you despite the injury, Jaytron!

If this is true, it's the exception rather than the norm. And your friends are all geniuses. And they're definitely not straight coding jobs.

Not trying to argue, just making myself feel better about my cs bachelor degree and the low 5 figure job that took me 6 months to find....

Is there such thing as a 6 figure job right out of a 4-year school with only a bachelors?

LesterOfPuppets 11-21-11 05:54 PM

Best first gig I've heard a computer geek scoring was 68K. Ain't nothing to shake a stick at, but no 100K either.

Nope, take that back I know a dude that got a little north of 80K in the Bay Area. Of course with the cost of living difference, that's probably about the same money.
