I think its humorous but you're probably a shill.

ddeadserious 01-26-12 08:16 AM

A shill that doesn't post any kind of link or over elaborate story? That'd be unusual.

Today I talked with a professor of mine from last semester. He is the graduate recruiter for penn state (and a rock star in the science world) and gave me some really useful knowledge for applying to grad school, offered to write me a recommendation letter, and a paid position in his lab this summer.

This is awesome/stressful because I've been working in my current lab for 2 years, so I would feel bad leaving after my current boss has done so much for me. Ugh.

Gotta move on some time. If the opportunity is better, you'll regret not moving on it. I've developed great relationships with bosses at every job I've had, but sometimes it's just time to go for one reason or another.

This^

If your boss is as awesome as you make him out to be, then he will understand and encourage you to pursue a better opportunity.

I work as an RA in a nanotechnology lab doing a lot of standard gold and silver nanoparticle fabrication and QC. I do some neat method/product development and help out on grant-funded contracts here and there (read: real science), but not as often as I would like.

In college I earned a "C" in both biology and biochemistry, but an "A" in inorganic and p-chem. I would be totally lost at your work.

saw the doc!

Severely strained (or, I think mildly and partially torn) MCL. be fine with just rest and knee excercise. also mildly Strained ACL but not bad as far as he can tell. no meniscus damage.

good news: no surgery. i should heal just by taking it easy, ibuprofen and brace and little pt excercising and if in a week it's not better (even slightly) then i'll think about imaging and see what's exactly going on... but for now, doc said i was good to go just need to heal up!

still can't walk still have super limited range of motion but it's looking like three weeks and i'll be able to try to get going again. no bikes for three weeks but that's way better than three months, so i'm stoked.

I actually find it quite funny that he admits that he's the creator of the shirt and you say he's "probably" a shill. loll

Would buy though if it's under 15 bucks.

This is great news. If you get PT, keep up with the exercises. That was my downfall, I think, and it meant I had a weak knee for years.

homebrewk 01-26-12 05:16 PM

Yeah! That's great news cc.

hamfoh 01-26-12 07:33 PM

today I got my rack in and started to install it based purely on where it looks like things go. Not sure if I'm going to be able to get that lever that attaches behind the brake caliber to fit. too tired to play with tiny screws anymore.

Xgecko 01-26-12 07:54 PM

I de-spoked my front wheel so I can lace it to a new rim tomorrow

Scrodzilla 01-26-12 08:02 PM

So you can't?

auto complete hell. Serves me right for posting on a Tablet instead of the computer in front of me. Seriously though I am looking forward to lacing up a new front wheel

I disassembled a Chris King rear disk hub. Holy crap these things are over engineered. Very porn though

Then, I opened a DT 350 hub. Very simple and elegant inside
