Today I had to ride my bike home in the storm blowing through the southbay........cold as ice.

I saw red tails. Great flight scenes fur dayz, but the bomber dialogue was something out of a 2002 ace combat game. No emotion.
And I use some Etymotic Research in ears. They've been great and have top quality noise cancellation. |

I deliver pizzas for a part time job and tonight everything froze over. I took a fall on a sidewalk in front of a customer's house and smoked my elbow and the back of my hip. Rolled around on the ground for a minute, knocked on their door and checked their pizzas to see if they got all fubared. They look fine and they throw me a $10 tip, which is big deal for me. I really should've milked that at every door.
Earlier I rode a trainer for about an hour. Is it bad if there is silver dust on my back tire? I had the tension up a fair amount so I'm hoping that bull**** doesn't wear my tires out faster than usual. |
Thanks to snow, I got the time to paint my bars flat black from crazytown blue. Works for now until I find a set of bars that actually work for me.

happy bday! :)
snow is gone, so today i rode my bike and will continue to ride my bike until... can't stop, dont want to |
I just woke up, and the skies were blue :O

Took the snow bike out for 10 miles on the local trail system. Was a really great day! 14 degree F with the sun shinning so bright! NO WIND either, which is crazy for the winter here. About 2 inches of packed snow, great conditions.
Anywho, it was great. Days like these are why I fall in love with biking everything I get on the saddle. .Chris |
today the wind/rain decided to take a break... so i wrapped and shellac'd my bars... looks good man.

Today I have decided that I have a downright hatred for surly hubs. Yes they are sealed hubs, but use a threaded on shoulder instead of an axle with a fixed shoulder, on a mtb disc hub instead of a axle for a mtb, they use a 9x1, the bearings in them are not 6000 series, they are 7091 series sealed bearings(small). I've been having an issue with the front bearings, though it was just the threaded on shoulder nuts just working loose, but take the axle out to find out one had 3mm of slop in the bearing on the one side and the inside race one the other side of the hub came out with the threaded on shoulder nut. Wheel was built back in december and did not suffer any hard front impacts. When it was quick release I had the same issue of the wheel feeling like it worked it's way loose on the 2nd ride. So I was pretty much sent a hub with defective bearings. One more issue, and I am seriously going to just get of the wheels and build up a new wheelset with anything but surly hubs.

My surly has been fine for at least 3 years... and I don't even like surly :/
Today I got some new bike shorts. Hopefully they work out. |
Today I mowed my lawn myself for the first time in over 25 years. I had been paying a lawn service to do it, but now that I'm retired I've got plenty of free time to do home maintenance chores. I bought a basic 21" cut gas push mower from my local Lowes, and it was totally easy to set up and mow the lawn. I find it hilarious that my neighbor who is half my age and who's lawn is the same size as mine and completely flat has an expensive rider mower.
