hairnet 10-16-12 07:06 PM

1. take me now. 2. the idea of a $10k bike short circuits my brain a little.

RGNY 10-16-12 08:11 PM

found out that the local restored 1920's arabesque decor theater is showing the original 1958 double feature of "Horror of Dracula" and "The Thing That Couldn't Die" for $6 on the same night as my buddy's Halloween party. crapcrapcrapcrapcrap!!!!

ThermionicScott 10-16-12 08:16 PM

Today I did a little bottom-bracket-and-spacer mad science and not only improved my chainline a little, I can now mount my chainrings on the outside of the spider and run bigger gears!

I wasn't sure how much room I'd gain, so I picked the least-cheesy-looking 43T ring I could find on eBay. The picture doesn't show it well, but I have the clearance for at least a 45T -- I've got a 46T coming in the mail for my road bike, maybe I'll try it on here next.

Today after I got a response from Knog about the broken strap on my Blinder, I realized I'm probably just going to have to buy a new one. No fault of Knogs, I should have just saved my damn receipt. Even if I had it, the bike shop I bought my Blinders from is a 2 hour drive away. :|

UPS dropped off my MW Sanction today.

Holy sh*t man. What an awesome bag. The quality is nuts.

Muffin Man 10-16-12 09:02 PM

I just put a little bit of slack in my chain, and this EAI cog is ****ing silent. I love it so much

It's mine. Literally in my top 3 favorite bikes, and I don't know the other two.

They're both on sale too. Free shipping as well. Just buy one. Buy them both. Buy 4, geared and SS in both color schemes.
SS:http://www.competitivecyclist.com/fr...ut--10923.html ($891.65)
Geared: http://www.competitivecyclist.com/fr...oi--10924.html ($1274.15)

Yeah, it really sucks because I do love riding bicycles, but the way the roads are setup here is just not really all that safe, on top of having to deal with ****ty drivers.

I was stationed out here from Portland, OR. It was really quite a change, a ****ty one at that. :(

i guess the dream is just me building it from parts i picked out, obviously not necessary but i have this problem with making things "mine"

it is really nice bike, someone posted a pic of theirs a few months ago and it was love at first sight

i love the fact that you can do basically whatever you want with that thing, gears, no gears, disc brakes, them dropouts are sweet

plus crabon fork

Nagrom_ 10-16-12 10:14 PM

massive carbon fork.

Whatch're build list lookin' like?

Mumonkan 10-16-12 10:20 PM

unless i get a rediculous tax return at the end of the year this prolly wont happen, at the least maybe id start accumulating parts next year

but its not exactly the most high end, pompino, a23/novas, wing pros/s500s, avid shorty ultimates, thomson bits, eggbeaters, white industries trial fw

still undecided on a fork and cranks though, and 1600 was a rough guestimate

Nagrom_ 10-16-12 10:22 PM

im diggin it.

Mumonkan 10-16-12 10:26 PM

thinkin about stripping the paint and goin clear raw dog on the frame too

The one on my Leader runs so smooth and quiet with a 710SL. Big fan of their cogs too.

I have the stock S300 chainring, 16t EAI cog, and 810 SL, I could only hear the tires on the ground today. It was glorious
