The slow cooker I just bought is a piece of ****. Won't simmer. Glad I've got a dutch oven to work with.

Going through all of my drawers/closet space clearing out everything that doesn't fit anymore. Hella L/XL/XXL shirts, and hella 36/38 pants.

Feels good man.

EDIT: I have so many ****ing pairs of socks. jesus. Also, bike parts everywhere man. WhyTF is there a crankset in my underwear drawer?

Today I:

Received a pair of 7 speed 105 DT shifters for free. A customer just offered them to me while I was looking over his bike

Going through the same thing. My wife found a chainwhip in a box of cds the other day, and most of my clothes no longer fit.

And then you hate your diet and take all that money from clothes and put it back into food. Vicious cycle.

Finally got my computer back... if I had not been running all over the country for the past two months it would have been a little sooner and damn but I missed the speed of this old box.

Today is my last day in the office before my work+fun trip to New Orleans. So excited! Will miss my bike, and I'm missing some awesome stuff going on in Chicago, but it's nice to get away once in a while. Days 1-5 will suck because I'll be working 14-hour days, but then the last two days are all for me.

jimmytango 10-15-12 08:36 AM

I've never been to New Orleans, so I'm jealous. Have fun.

Today (just now) a young dude with a huge afro riding an old Lemond got hit by a car right out in front of the shop. Before I could even get outside to see if he was alright he was on his feet, the driver was out of the car and they were screaming at each other. As I walked out the door, the driver made the mistake of shoving the dude while attempting to get back into his car and I watched in sheer amazement as he got his ass served to him on a silver platter. Afro dude was all fists, landing haymakers left and right. It was like watching a jailhouse beat down. So ****ing crazy.

He eventually made it back into his car and just drove off while the dude picked up his bike and walked around the corner. I called out to him, asking if he was alright and he just kept walking.

Coming from the "been there, done that" school of not taking **** from people... if you start it, you better be able to finish it.

Woke up feeling sick after doing a spontaneous half century ride to the coast in several places around the north bay yesterday.. hit lots of cold, wet fog patches (but most of route was absolutely gorgeous). Ride was still worth it; probably would have been sick today anyways, right?

http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/145900819

I did the extreme hilly portion of this ride on my road bike, and the flatter portion on my fixed gear. Trying to work up to doing longer, steeper hills fixed, but still have to stand on it for anything above like 4% grade (46x16) so I can't go on these longer routes all fixed. Want to someday.
