Think I'm gonna sell the 88's, and build a set of somethings.

Thinking A23's.

Mumonkan 10-08-12 04:37 PM

today i bought tights, and after trying them on ive concluded that they kick ass

cant wait to ride with them, unfortunately now i homework. :crash:

TMonk 10-08-12 04:57 PM

what kind u get?

i have some padless ones that you just throw on over whatever bibs/shorts you're wearing.
granted i live in socal so i use them like 10 times tops in a year but theyre life savers when its chilly

cali_axela 10-08-12 05:18 PM

Got my third flat in the last week this morning -- second one on the rear wheel on my daily commuter bike, both from glass; this weekend, had the valve fail on the front tire on my MTB. All this after not getting any flats for several months, very frustrating.

Learn advanced fencing techniques. They prevent flats apparently.

ha! yes i went 3 years w/o a flat.

but, to be specific, it's Renaissance Italian fencing (and other combat). currently working through Saviolo. although my practice space isn't as fancy, these guys need to hit eachother harder:

under armour compression ones for cold weather, inside feels like merino but its all synthetic
had them on for like 10 mins in the house over my shorts and my legs were on fire, plus compression. /feelsgoodman

didnt get padded ones cuz i wasnt sure how much i would need them, and id be able to use these when i go hiking upstate in the mountains for photography

TMonk 10-08-12 05:59 PM

padless tight ftw

That was pretty awesome. Wouldn't be my first instinct to swat at someones blade though.

jdgesus 10-08-12 06:20 PM

if i see a guy with a sword, i usually just fly away with my jet pack

off hand parry is safe enough if it's a swat and not a slide. blade cross section doesn't make them razor sharp.

for the hardcore, they made gloves w/ chainmail lining in the palm to let you grab the blade. :)

Ripped a hole in the crotch of my jeans. Since I don't wear skivvies, I used it as an excuse to buy a set of bibs because I wore thermal tights this morning and wasn't going to wear them under jeans all day. As I was taking garbage out and wishing I hadn't spent the money, I found a hundo on the ground. Now I'm up $60 for the day.

Score! Thats such an awesome find. I made a hole in my jeans a little worse yesterday. At the back of my leg, right where it connects to my ass and contacts the saddle, I wore through it a while back. When I was about to go from a red light, I didn't push myself up quite far enough, snagged the jeans on the nose of the saddle. I'm driving these jeans straight into the ground.

Nice. I never have found money on the ground other than coins before... I see a lot of roadkilled squirrels though...

Today I bought a bunch of cold weather riding gear; arm warmers, leg warmers, head warmer, toe covers, and then another saddle bag and some more CO2 cartridges.

Good place for CO2 cartridges is eBay. 30 of em for $33.50, pretty sweet deal. 16g threaded, food grade(aka no additives/oils).

That is a good price, nearly a buck a piece. Even better than my cost at the bike shop for Specialized ones.

Found 'em: http://www.ebay.com/itm/30-16g-CO2-t...item2572986d9c

Free UPS ground shipping too. I've used about 4 of em since I bought the box, and haven't got one filled with napalm yet.

Mumonkan 10-08-12 09:04 PM

dunno about food grade, but

Nice, thanks. I've only flatted once in the past year, and that was before I carried CO2. I'll probably order a big box when I finish the 4 that I have.

Nagrom_ 10-08-12 09:06 PM

Those are 1.50 a cartridge, still not bad, but 30 for 33.50 is about a buck and a dime.

Mumonkan 10-08-12 09:09 PM

12.21/12=1.01?
