Wow! I've seen a couple of homeless dudes on carbon rigs. And one on a fairly recent Pista...

Today I built this! Well, I did have my LBS install the GXP bottom bracket and the freewheel. 90% there.... it needs a brake lever and better pedals, I just had these cheapo Bell pedals lying around from another bike that I threw on to go for a test ride. I'm thinking some MKS Sylvans with toe clips, or maybe the retrogression v straps when they become available again? we'll see... loving the ride of the 722 though. It's nimble, light, and it seems like 48x18 reallyhits the sweet spot for my commutes, lots of up and down being 100ft above sea level in some parts of my town.
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=288988 I also need to grab a 17t cog for the other side, my LBS didn't have any lock rings though so I just had them throw a freewheel on the other side for now. The wheel is pretty far in the dropouts with that 18t f/w so I think I'll have enough wiggle room for the 17t cog without having to mess with the chain again. |
one dozen eggs, one pound of sausage, one 1/2 bag of hash browns, one bag of shredded cheese, one can of refried beans, one ten pack of tortillas, and some siracha, I now have TEN of the most badass breakfast burritos that I can deploy at my will.

Jesus Christ that sounds amazing.

DIY Forkend
Today, I finished making new fork ends to replace my dropouts. I'll take the frame to the machine shop tomorrow or the next day for tig welding. Hooray! Soon I'll have a fixie.

Today I underestimated the hills on the way to the mall to finish my christmas shopping. Had to go down some steps after a quick shower to warm back up, and almost fell because my legs haven't felt like this in a while. Stupid pancake-flat towns in this state.
