If your chainring and cog aren't noticeably worn, which you can easily tell by looking at them with your eyes, they're not worn.

That's because there's nothing wrong with them.

Didn't know the park chain checker didn't matter. Learn something every day, right?

My KMC 710Sl measured completely worn out (1.0) before I even rode with it

You obviously replaced it, right?

Today I hunted and killed five of these ****ers chilling in my house. Don't think i'm gonna be able to sleep wondering if there are more of them crawling around.

Those ****ing things are all over the shop. Words can't even express how much I hate them.

Mumonkan 12-19-12 11:49 AM

I forget what theyre called but they do you no harm, they like dark and damp crevices

(they probbaly come from that cool ass drain gizmo thing in the shop)

they do look disgusting though and i kill them on sight, simply cuz theyre too fast to catch humanely

Those things were designed and are marketed in a consortium with LBSs and chain manu's, I swear.

Adrian_ 12-19-12 11:52 AM

They're called house centipedes, I know that they don't do any harm but i'm disgusted by all bugs. My first encounter with one was in my BED! Slept in the living room for a week after that. Maybe I should move...

Nagrom_ 12-19-12 11:53 AM

Glad im in california.

+1, They basically fall apart if you just look at them, and they can't really bite you.

Nagrom_ 12-19-12 12:20 PM

I've seen like 3 in my entire life. They aren't an issue.

Scrodzilla 12-19-12 12:21 PM

Nagrom - next time you order something, I'll make sure a few of those leggy little bastards end up in the box.

LesterOfPuppets 12-19-12 12:27 PM

Live pets > plastic toys.

Today I'm waiting for a break in the rain 'til I head downtown. I can't wait to hit PHX for a week. Wearin' my Speedo everywhere, mountain biking every day, palm trees and saguaros with Christmas lights...

Nagrom_ 12-19-12 12:28 PM

I'll make sure not to order anything, hahaha.

Scrodzilla 12-19-12 12:32 PM

I have your address on file. I'll send them along anyway.

Nagrom_ 12-19-12 12:43 PM

Welp, I better move.

They're called silverfish and they're ALL OVER NYC, especially the boroughs. They are indeed harmless, but their creepy as ****.

prooftheory 12-19-12 01:28 PM

That isn't what most people call a silverfish. For me a silverfish is one of these things:

They have silverfish in California too.

Ew. Its like an aquatic cockroach shrimp beetle

prooftheory 12-19-12 01:31 PM

And nasty as ****. I'd much rather have house centipedes than silverfish.

Word, my bad. Apparently they're called "house centipedes." Wish they had a cooler name.

Edit: guess someone beat me it

Scrodzilla 12-19-12 01:45 PM

According to Wikipedia, California has them too.
