Holy ****, EpicSchwinn, glad you are oK! Looks like that car saved your life.
That Surly jersey looks great, as usual no women's sizes tho. Lame. If I had the money I'd wear nothing but wool. Got some Icebreaker tops on sale recently - thin but warm, 100% merino, probably will be able to wear them 3 seasons. Wish I had more already but even on sale are $48 each. |
I have one merino shirt and it was $80
keeps me warmer than most of my hoodies, but its black and long sleeve so im not gonna go wearing that when its warm would love to have all wool everything though, never smells and is so cozy |

surly makes a full size run from xs to xl women's sizes. currently in stock, also...... ........from surly's website.... "Now we’ve got these jerseys and they are leaps and bounds better than our previous jerseys. Custom made to our specifications, they are available in men’s and women’s cuts, in long and short sleeve. Both feature a reasonably tall collar, quality zippers, and zipper-protected kangaroo rear pocket accessible from either side. The long sleeve version’s got a full length zipper and thumb holes at the cuffs to help keep the sleeves in place for the monkey-armed among us. The short sleeve also has a zippered ‘cigarette pocket’ on the sleeve. Choose from black or gray, in sizes XS through XL. |
motorin' around for 3 hrs b4 work this morning. feelin' strong and fast. vroom vroom vroom
tmmrw off, ez 2 hrs on sat and then my first race of the year on Sunday! Crit in Costa Mesa, CA (where I lived till age 5!). It's a brand new race on the calendar and its about a 30 min drive from where my parents live in N. County SD. I'm planning on starting near the back and spending half the race just feeling out the field and the new course. I'll also practice moving up slowly using as little effort as possible, just to get my race skills back. If im not near the front 3/4 the way through ill put in a dig to get there and then contest the finish if ppls aren't riding too sketchy. |

Sounds like the truman show but for bikes, i like it Today I will install the crank and chain on my Mr. Pink and adjust the gears and it will be done. Too bad I won't be able to ride it for a bit. |
Today wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Had an exam in my second class, was actually pretty prepared for it. Only took a half hour, just like the one yesterday. And now that I'm done with all my midterm exams, I took the bike out in the cold to get a 6 pack. Found a rack of mix n match to get a $1.50 off a 6 pack, so I did it. Hooray for trying new beers.
And hopefully I can find a way to get home tomorrow. Haven't been there in a few months, and I want free laundry/food.

Hot. I want a fat tire bike so bad
|
Forgot to mention that my beer run was also my first ride with the new clipless set up. Decided to go far out of my way and took a ride around campus before taking the longest way possible to get to the liquor store. Made a 1.5 mile round trip into like 8 or 9. Feelsgoodman. Didn't fall either, which is what I was slightly worried about at stop lights/signs.

Today I spent 2.5 hours removing surface rust on my wheels/rims on my new bike. Some of it is more than surface, but anyways... it looks much better now. Also did the same to some of the components (e.g., calipers). It wasn't an expensive bike or anything and was using rather meh components.
Anyways, I'm happy now. |
Today I started to think about a new frame to replace the 930, not sure I trust it anymore.
|
found a nitto custom stem, a pair of shimano slr brake levers, and a sakae road champ handle bar as i was walking out of the co-op, all in decent shape. it will be polished and going on the other bike soon :-)
now i just need a seat post and toe clips. and maybe a nicer fork |

Not sure yet, going to do my research.
|
... At any rate, I tried out my brand-new $30 ultrasonic cleaner on the FG chain today. It didn't remove a whole lot more grit after my usual process, but it was fun. |
