Trust me, no one needs SRAM.

Yeah, I really like SRAM, although the only shimano I've used is 2300 and 105, so its not a fair comparison with Force.
Some sram stuff I'm ok with, some I'm not. I seem to have some luck with their 1/8th inch chains.
I'm thinking of finding some 7800 dura ace or even 6600 ultegra for a steel or Ti everyday/training bike. The stuff requires less maintenance and lasts alot longer ime.
However, I prefer sram on my race rigs |

Luckily their warranty department works like a Swiss watch. |

I normally get about 3000 miles out of chains, but have seen enough broken SRAM chains that I no longer trust them. |
Today I fixed a flat.
He must be taking all the pins out first.
As said, I seem to have luck with the PC-1.
The only chain I've ever broken was a PC-1.
SRAM PC-1, cleaned and lubed regularly, swapping them when the Park chain checker says to. Six weeks, tops. I have a feeling I'm going to need a chainring and cog soon, too since the chain that's currently on the bike has been showing "worn-replace chain" on the tool for two weeks.
Maybe worn gears have caused premature chain wear.
They aren't that worn, though. I checked two chains (TWO CHAINZ!!!) ago. The chains still look new, there is no odd noise or vibration, no sharkteeth on cog or ring, just stretched chains.
Check pin distance over 12" with a ruler also. Sometimes rollers wear out fast and result in premature death prognoses from chain-checkers.
Hm. Didn't think about that. I'll check when I wake up. For now, bed.
Drove crazy far to pick up three small [modern] road bikes off craigslist. Going to run an experiment in the spring flipping these.
thought about my wheelbuilds and what i want out of my bikes.
i think i'll get a non-****** touring wheelset (old ass dyno, a319s) and save money for a ****** ass training roadie wheelset (kinlin or DT with sapim cx and white hubs) and in order to fund this, sell my mountain bike and city bike. I can use the touring or cx bikes for town bikes just as well and should have four bikes instead of six given my current living situation and income. feel good about that. oh, also i slanged bikes like crazy for the prexmas rush, and saw my girlfriend for coffee before she left town for the holiday. |

If your chainring and cog aren't noticeably worn, which you can easily tell by looking at them with your eyes, they're not worn.
