Today I drove the Focus ST and MS3 again. The Focus has a great engine, imo, but handling just wasn't there for me. It felt... "wobbly" in the steering wheel coming out of turns? I'm not sure what that means (don't know much about cars). For the MS3, power kicks in kind of late but I think it handles nicely.
I ruled out the WRX based on initial price and insurance cost (so ridic). I just don't think AWD is worth the extra $4k up front (based on the new quote I got for the MS3 today) plus 5x the monthly insurance cost. I might try out a GTI and a FRS just to compare, but I doubt I'll go with either cuz 2 doors. Cars man why lol. |
Today I commuted in with a threaded setup, and commuted home with a threadless setup.

BTW, I drive a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon GT and I can get 2 mountain bikes in there without taking the wheels off. Hatchbacks ain't all bad. |

I was thinking about dropping the coin for a pair, because the jeans that I currently commute/city ride in have huge holes where my saddle wore them through in like 4 different spots. How are they holding up?

everyone should just (re)learn how to make cars like my '88 toyota pickup
(including toyota) except add power steering this time |
Agreed. '86 Nissan pickup here.

89 Honda Accord that refuses to stop running.

Rowed a 2:56.9 1000 meter on the C2 rower (PR)
|
That's pretty fast. Are you a rower?
(I rowed for a year in college) |
Never on the water, just indoor. The only on the water experience I have is outrigger canoeing. I'm just fairly tall, heavy (6'2"@245) and have a decent lactate threshold for the shorter events. Fortunately for me, being large isn't as much of a issue as it is in cycling.

Put track drops on for cool points. Went for a ride. Took track drops back off.

^I lol'd
Looks like I'm doing homework all weekend! Yeah... |
Today I saw hairnet's bike in the LAfixed bike porn thread.

But I was 5'8"@145 when I rowed. Pretty tiny by comparison. You should get on the water! There's really nothing like the feeling of gliding across a smooth lake. |

Amazingly. They're seriously the best jeans ever. They make a black dressy slack version too, and I'm considering getting a pair of them, and some more of the jeans.
But now I might have to drop the money on them as soon as tax time/road bike purchase is past. |
