Sounds/looks awesome. Diggin' that logo. If I was living in the Bay, I'd sign up in an instant.

Today I'm back in NYC after a week in LA/Palm Springs, feeling the same way I do every time I come back from being out west: why do I live in places with winters? Growing up in NY and spending 10 years in Montreal, I've paid my winter dues. Might be time to take the fam out west.

And to keep this post SSFG related, I have a co-worker who started building his own frames a while back. He's recently decided to start building frames for others and asked me if I wanted to be a test rider. This means a free custom geo frame (basic 4130) in whatever style I choose, provided I ride the crap out of it and give him proper feedback. Needless to say, I am excite.

I wear gloves, and was waiting for the weather to break before I wrapped them... but really I'm just poor. hahaha

Jaytron 04-02-13 07:56 PM

Today I signed up to join the Jandro groupie club.

Also rode home and the knee seems to be working well. Bought some "Rock Tape" to speed up recovery.

Bummer :( At least it seems relatively easy to treat. Just looks like iodine supplements?

That's what he thinks the root of it is, a combination of stress and an iodine deficiency. Gonna have some more tests done, but hopefully it can be treated with over the counter supplements.

not necessarily a big deal and is actually pretty common

Yeah, I looked it up after getting the phone call. Just kinda lame really. Hopefully all of this weight will come off. I went from about 175 to 205 since the start of the semester, with no change in diet, which what originally led me to the doctor's office.

Think of it this way: the diagnosis didn't change anything. You already HAD it, now you just know about it. Like everyone has said, my understanding is it's fairly easily treatable and once you start treating it you may find you feel AWESOME!

Still, I understand the feels and hope you get it all figured out/treated soon.

Thanks, I'm hoping so.

From what I hear from Jaytron, Jandro is a freaking beast.

60% of the time, he makes me feel slow... every time.

Except when there's some headwind on a flat or slight down grade... then my fat ass has a slight advantage... oh and if his tire is going flat

Morgan: Keep us posted man, hope everything goes well

Nagrom_ 04-02-13 09:16 PM

Will do.

Works great on other dirty things as well. I reuse the stuff too. Just soak it in the degreaser, than pour the degreaser back in another bottle.

yummygooey 04-02-13 09:48 PM

i got the hdx brand cuz it was nearly half the price... we'll see how it does. i just want to clean some chains.

tomatsu 04-02-13 09:56 PM

I got a Wald basket in the mail and my townie/grocery getter is officially done, I think...

The supports were crazy long so I cut 'em in half, drilled some holes and bolted them together at the proper length. This leaves me some room just in case the basket goes on another bike someday -- I can go shorter or longer if needed.

build plans? are you gonna use it for messing?

iTripped 04-02-13 11:09 PM

Today my Brooks swift arrived (thank you retro-gression) and after paying $30 in GST and 'handling fees' I went to three different bike shops looking for Proofide. None had any in stock but at the third shop the guy offered to GIVE me his barely used tin. That shop, Whoa! Nellie, gets awesome points today. The second shop, Mighty Riders gets honourable mention for being neighbourly and suggesting I try Nelly, since they were out. (I didn't know about that shop before).

Oh, and I also got out of jury selection today, but will have to go back on Thurs.

Pictures of frame?

Where'd you get it from? They don't have it on their site it looks like.

bro 04-03-13 12:24 AM

today i swapped out the axle on my formula front hub for a hollow QR one

i also opened up my mks sylvan touring pedals and repacked them with a bunch of phil wood grease and also fine-tuned them

i also set my chain at the proper length

still waiting on a zillion things in the mail but everything's already been ordered to finish my bike, so its just a waiting game, hoping my chainline will be straight, hoping the parts i ordered will even fit... bahhh.
