What? I purposely avoid the news so that I'm not depressed all of the time. Kind of like how I avoid certain people because they depress me. It works.
the important stuff i hear 50 times in a day anyway ( such as this ) from my friends/family/coworkers |
I am trying to think about this CT shooting only with my non-emotional brain, because as a parent, i just... no. cannot. do. so basically i'm sort of pretending it didn't happen, on some level.

i can't sleep, so i'm adding another thought to this: Why is it that when a couple of kids die from drinking too much 4loko it gets banned within weeks, but we have had a ****load of mass shootings and getting your hands on a gun is still pretty goddamned easy? this |
Cause there's nothing in the constitution that says we're entitled to over caffeinated alcoholic beverages.

Caffeinated booze is infinitely more fun than guns doe.

Today I feel hungover but I did not drink last night at all. Garage shop is almost ready. Even though I mainly want my own space I need to make some money with it.

Today I measured out and ball parked the fit on the caad. It should be within a half cm. This thing is gonna be comfy.
I am about a cm away from joining the Thomso/Homson club. Pretty damn anxious. Wheelset should get here on Monday. I get cash in hand tomorrow for the laptop. I get the groupset Tuesday. Everything else is coming in the mail. |

I hear you guys, but it's also a little dangerous to ignore or pretend. A lot of the people I greatly admire acknowledge it and don't turn away from the mass amounts of crappy things that happen. But they also don't let it bring their spirits down, instead they act and do something about it. Even if it's a small thing. But step one is acknowledging reality, no matter how horrific it is sometimes. |

Oh I also decided that I'm going to put a suspension fork back on the dmr.
|
today(tonight?) i got soaked on my way home from a bar in a rain squall. worth it to not be tipsy even on a bike, let alone a car (i'm still afraid of the fast handling on a track-ish Kilo TT, so i don't drink a lot).

Scrods got some pretty good prices, should definitely be less than 450
|
yeah...I mean, the C2 rim is very similar to the A23 and it looks nice, I suspect that the hub is better (but not much) than the novatec but the spokes on the ardennes aren't butted and that's just wrong for the money :-/
|
Fwiw mine came out to like 260 sans 85 for labor, and that was with more spokes, i dont think the hubs are more than $20 more each than the track ones

how much did you end up spending for the set? I'm trying to figure it out how much more or less I spent buying the competitive cyclist 2011 hed ardennes gp wheelset. It seemed like a good deal at $450 but now I don't know if it was such a deal...
Everything totaled $436, built and shipped, although that was during scrods monkey business monday, and 15% off wheel goods. Looks like they come out to ~$475 built/shipped without the discount. You could also cut 25 bucks by not using the most expensive novatecs. |
