Yea man, it is on the list. The porter is getting pretty decent, still had no real head though, weird....but I guess that is typical of porters.

I just transferred the dunkelweizen to the secondary last night, and still have that kolsch to brew up, though I think my fermentation temps might be too high to really get the style down. It will be spring drinking beer.

Edit: I guess I can put the secondary in the basement storage room to try and get some lower temps and clear up the kolsch

yummygooey 01-27-12 03:37 PM

You make beer?!?!

zoltani 01-27-12 03:40 PM

Yes indeed....

hamfoh 01-27-12 03:49 PM

today I swapped out the comcast modem with my own. noticeable difference and it'll pay for itself by fall~

Xgecko 01-27-12 03:52 PM

built a wheel thats centered, straight and round, not bad for a guy who hasn't built one in 2 decades.

zoltani 01-27-12 03:55 PM

Today I saw a bald eagle fly past my office window.....love the PNW!

Also scratched up my RD and ripped my bootie. Poop. :(

Just did a really quick 10 miles in the cold. I never remember to use Strava until after I finish my ride. At least I have half of the process down amirite?

LesterOfPuppets 01-27-12 06:26 PM

Know what would rule? RFID tags on all yer bikes. Phone senses tag, starts up Strava, automatically records ride as being on that bike.

I forget to start it all the time. I also have a few bikes in profile but dread editing each ride to change the bike.

homebrewk 01-27-12 07:23 PM

Just got Spotify for Android set up. I'm hoping I can ride tomorrow morning!

Now I'm listening to Dr. Dre with my QuietComforts.

Dannihilator 01-27-12 07:39 PM

Today- I put in a hard 40 mile ride.

homebrewk 01-27-12 07:52 PM

Nice.

You need to get a Strava account ASAP.

Dannihilator 01-27-12 08:22 PM

I don't have anything with a GPS device. I do my route planning the old fashioned way.

homebrewk 01-27-12 08:26 PM

No prob.

Dannihilator 01-27-12 08:38 PM

Plotting tomorrow's route right now.

homebrewk 01-27-12 08:42 PM

Do you use a paper map?

Dannihilator 01-27-12 09:09 PM

That much nope, gmapspedometer.

I know area extremely well and my sense of direction is extremely good, so when I plan, it's a route I never done before.

jdgesus 01-27-12 09:25 PM

the zoltani "Ron Brau" is pretty great IMO

Nagrom_ 01-27-12 09:53 PM

Today my cranks got delivered. Threw 'em on just now, along with a new KMC K710 SL... looks damn fine, shiny. This officially makes my bike ride-able. Now I can see if my bolt on dropout conversion catastrophically fails. doubt it will. WOOT

hamfoh 01-27-12 11:07 PM

today I did CM on the leader townie. wow it's been so long since I've done a freewheel more than around the neighborhood. 48x16 and I barely had to pedal, even with a rack full of stuff (portable ipod dock of course) and whatnot. makes me really appreciate what riding fixed has done for my endurance. also, looking forward to going downhill was a definite change in mindset. weeee

yummygooey 01-27-12 11:54 PM

Today I:

I had to ride 6 miles to the post office to pick them up after my 40 mile ride cuz USPS fails.

Riding single is so weird now and I've only been riding fixed for maybe 3 months. But I love going downhill unless I have to stop at the bottom. That sucks.

Speaking of CM, while riding to meet my wife, I came across the tail end of the one in L.A. tonight in downtown. I hear this guy and his buddy going back and forth with one of the motorcycle cops who is blocking the intersection for the cyclists and the dialogue was something like this:

Cop: What do you want me to do? They're biking. It's legal.
Guy: WTF do I want you to do? Haha, shoot them! Shoot them all!
Cop shakes his head, starts to ignore him.
Guy starts talking to his buddy: What do I want him to do? Ha! Bunch of Mexicans riding bikes, I don't care! Shoot them all!

I was kind of tempted to say something, but I thought to myself, if I saw a pig rolling around in crap by himself, which is what I equated this guy to (except that's insulting to pigs), I wouldn't ask the pig if I could join him. I'm no Dalai Lama, but the ignorance of this guy was astounding.
