i'm turning 27 this year and i'm not tiny. grow a big bushy beard, i don't generally get carded when in small groups or slow stores that don't expect a sting.

cc700 01-25-12 04:35 PM

oh, and yesterday-

went snowboarding in steven's pass backcountry, sent it over a gap that i was not in control of at the bottom of a chute, and what should have been a very small obstacle became something that i took too fast and

i'm going to see my doctor tomorrow. pretty sure i did my mcl. pretty sure i won't be on a bike for a few weeks, months.

OMG ! Have you been living under a rock for the last decade ? Dude, that's like a muckybrake and it was invented by mucky to thwart the Davis fuzz.

Nuh, I really appreciate the offer! Guess I should've been more specific. My "books" don't cost more than roughly $100 (this semester at least! I've spent $750 in one before), it's my art supplies that are killing me, and I already bit the bullet and bought those.

Today I got hit by a car while WALKING across an intersection by some dumbass driving a PT Cruiser who blew through a stop sign after only looking to the right.

xavier853 01-25-12 06:11 PM

oh I was guessing based off your PR!

@Scrod: we have an ongoing joke around here about PT Cruisers being the most dangerous cars on the road and if you see one, to take an alternate route. Seriously, they attract the most ******** drivers. One has run us off the road (while we were in a Jetta) another has come at us the wrong way on a one way road and another hit me while I was jogging in my neighborhood, among other things

If you know where to look, lots of textbooks can be had via the internets fo free, just saying.

I probably saved myself close to $1k in books that way haha.

Oh no, that sucks so much. I know the feeling (literally - tore my ACL skiing a mogul run when I was in high school) and it sucks. The worst part is how off and loose the joint feels. Mine was a partial tear and I didn't have surgery, so it was wobbly and ****ed up for years afterwards. Still don't trust it.

For the most part, I'm alright. I've got a super nasty bruise on my right hip (nearly the size of my damn head) but it pissed me off more than anything. I was walking about 3 blocks from my bank to my insurance agency downtown when - after already being halfway across the street and foolishly assuming this idiot would not only see me but actually stop at a stop sign - his ****ty PT Cruiser came plowing right into me. I was watching him the whole time and saw him only look to the right (I was crossing from his left) as he took me out trying to make a right turn without even slowing down. Right before he made contact I yelled "Whoa! Whoa!" and then "thunk!", I was rolling off his fender. I yelled "****ing ****head!" as he hit me and tried to turn it around on me by rolling down his window and yelling at me for being in the street. WTF? There were people all around telling him they clearly saw him hit me and that he didn't stop. He tried to drive away. I wanted to kill him. Before you know it, two cops were there - one of them being a dude whose bike I've done a lot of work on (sometimes it works out to be in good with the local cops) who got the driver's info, made out a report and told me to get to the hospital to be checked out.

It's kinda funny that my first thought when it happened was "I'm glad I wasn't on my bike".
