I'm so breaking the rules, I need a black saddle quick.

Use turbo just for one day. Or sell SLK and get new saddle.

Probably just gonna get an all black Arione for the Leader, and transfer the turbo over.

GMJ 04-04-12 12:25 AM

I like the Selle Italia SLR.

jimmytango 04-04-12 12:57 AM

I have an Arione Wingflex. ****ing awesome. Most comfortable saddle I've ever put my ass on.

You ride both?
Holy crap my Arione was an ass hatchet. <3 My Turbos

Today my fixie is a roadie again. I think from here on out it will remain geared because I want a real stiff frame to ride fixed on and my SR feels amazing as a geared bike. I need to do some sub-24 hour overnight bike camping with it since it is a rando/sport tourer. I'm just waiting for payday to get a triple crank for this

adriano 04-04-12 05:42 AM

i love parallel grip chinups. i havent really done them, but parallel grip dead hangs would be a good cycling exercise.

Yeah, the roadie has an Arione, and my Leader has a Turbo. Can't decide on which I like more though. I like them both a lot.

Also, your new avatar is throwing me off.

Cynikal 04-04-12 09:22 AM

I think I sold my cross frame! Time for some new parts!

I don't know what I'm gonna do with the second lever.

Getting it not to move around isn't a very difficult problem to solve. Cram it with newspaper, fill it with rubber cement... run it through a short cable in the bars and crimp it... (although some jerk might pull the lever and...)

It's making it do something awesome that will take some ingenuity... Maybe have it trigger sound effects (like the ones on one of those old keychains that make kaboom and laser noises)

Anyone remember these?

Get the ones I did. They have a return spring so no flopping around on 'dummy' lever.

Clicky

Today I went to a couple shops to check out arm/knee warmers. I am so skinny that the size smalls are still loose on me. I am very sad.

Getting prepared for Seattle music festival. It's next weekend, so I have a while, but the principal flautist isn't coming so I have to learn all the parts.

And it's a school trip so no bikes :( First time in Seattle, though.

zoltani 04-04-12 04:30 PM

What music festival is this you speak of?

It's a high school orchestra "festival." I may have over sold it a little bit.

They've been sparse on the details, but I just checked, and we perform in Auburn, and are staying in Seattle. As far as I can tell it doesn't even have a name.

Today I sat down with the graduate studies adviser for my department and got a very good indication that I'm going to not only be accepted but also allowed to teach and research for the university. That means I'm going to get a nice stipend which I wasn't planning for.

Because of this, my wife told me I can order (in the spring of 2013) my dream bike. I yearn for you Soulcraft groundskeeper SS. You are my sun and moon.

I probably shouldn't have said that last part. Oh well.

If I understand, once I pay for it in January I could be sitting around for a few months until its made and in my hot little hands. What she still doesn't know is that I'm going to plead with Scrod to help me make her her dream bike for her birthday in September. Fun times and I can #craigshift off her Fuji Betsy deathtrap.

+1

But now he's changed it back, so I guess there'll be no more of that.

Today I rode my road bike with the brand new chain I installed last night. That bike is DEAD SILENT. I find it slightly unnerving.

Nagrom_ 04-04-12 06:13 PM

Today I spent quite a bit of time researching a set of wheels for the track. The build I have on paper weighs 1271.8g complete, and 1695g with tubes/tires. Might still be able to lower this number.

Utterly disappointed with the universes selection of 24H NMSW rims.

Brakeless winged compact drops are awzumm too. Especially Deda RHM02's cuz they have a pretty wide top section. If I want hoods, I just ride my rodebiek.

SRAM hoods + compact drops = so comfy.

Today, I climbed for almost 10 miles straight in preparation for a 200k.

Dannihilator 04-04-12 09:59 PM

Today was a good 35 miles.

Bladed spokes, but a box section rim. It seems pretty profiled though.

gigantor 04-04-12 11:00 PM

Today I played biekz... So close to completion!

You're missing a few contact points.

He likes raw seatpost.

Maybe this fool will be out on the track with us. Nagrom_ are you going to make it this Saturday? (Will the Kilo be here in time)

gigantor 04-04-12 11:02 PM

I stood over it and pushed it around my apartment. So stoked! Gonna sit on the stairs working and waiting for the delivery guy tomorrow.

The Kilo is still scheduled for Friday, so it looks good. I hope I can make it there before 9, I gotta get out of the house by 630 to try and make it. Public transportation woes. And if I don't, who knows.

Young Version 04-04-12 11:12 PM

I also decided today that I'm going to sell the frameset from my Wilier to fund a frame build.
