Bikes: good ones.

Today I made an appointment for Monday and spent time with my dad for the first time in months. We ate Mexican food, argued about religion (he always becomes circular), went and got some froyo, then saw Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie. Wrapped it all up with a meal at Sonic while we jammed out to Jethro Tull.

Great. ****ing. Day.

I've been through counseling, and I know it can be a waste of money for some people, but this is something that I've tried dealing with since I was in grade school. Obviously, I need control. I am just going in for diagnosis, but I'll go to a couple sessions to see if they help.

I know I'm the only one that can change my life. I got a plan there, too.

-Sleep, regularly
-Eat, regularly
-Don't do as many drugs, as often
-Ride the **** out of the Raleigh. Weather is getting nicer and I always feel better after a ride.

You should take up weightlifting, it helped me forget and feel good for a while.

It's one of the reasons I'm going to start going back to the gym starting Monday, since my foot is finally healed all the way.

200 in 12 hours would be real impressive to me for a solo ride in most conditions

i've never ridden more than like 101.something myself. single centuries only happens a handful of times/year for me.

200 will wait until May. Sometime in August, I may attempt a quad metric. Today's route had me go up 2 of the hardest climbs in my home county.

thats a monster ride.

In fitter days, i rode a century by myself over a route wit 3-4k of elevation in 5.5 hrs.
My fitness is much more geared towards shorter efforts these days.

I hear riding a bike is good for it too, all that time out by yourself. Oh wait.....

ok so, today I went out for a ride, approximately 5 miles ride, and it was a sweet one. But then on my way home, I hear this very faint screeching/squeaking noise, and by very faint, I mean very very faint. Should I get it checked out or is that just the sound of the bike doing work.

Btw I just bought a new bike yesterday, so consider me as a noob.
Check 'Price check please' thread to check my bike pics.

no squeaks allowed. Sometimes my cleats squeak, but that's it. I got rid of my LOOK pedals because those squeaked like hell with any power and I had one pair of Time Atacs (out of 3) that squeaked because of something going on with the rubber seal

gotta mix it up. All of December and January I rode my touring bike and all of last month I was fixed. Time for touring bike again.

Today I managed to swap cable anchor assemblies on a couple of my Tektro brakes (one is stripped) even though I dont have a torx wrench. I now have a working Tektro r556 to put on the touring bike and ditch the cantis. This thing has so much reach that I bet I can use 650b wheels, but that is project I can't afford right now.

Bikes: everywhere

Today I found a fixed wheelset at my volunteer wrench gig.

I predict a month or so fixed Pinarello Record before I get her in to paint.

I'll compile a turn by turn route sometime soon and post it. It'd be cool to get a nice group going.

I'm not doing it fixed btw, but feel free too. There's a massive descent that would suck riding down fixed. more power to you.

It's near a little body of water around that area.
