I came home to my wife finishing maintenance on both of our FGs. Is it a full moon?

She swapped out her own track nuts to boot and did the clappy-clappy thing when I checked and they were done right.

Infract me for swear filter. I don't care. That's awesome man. I've been dying to try it. Good to know that you can dust mucky lol.

Today I rode 2 perimeter laps at Forest Park and a very beautiful girl on bike smiled at me when I noodled through an intersection. I hope I see her again. I did not sup. About to get pretty classy tonight (or as classy as sailor jerry and rc cola).

Definitely try it man, I had so much fun today, and it was only a beginner training session. My only regret is waiting so long to do it.

Today I: rode around Austin in the rain, found out that I'm not terrible at hills, had lunch at Stubb's, bought some sweet Onitsukas, and found out that my camera battery is shot and no one in town carries the one I need. Did I mention that the reason I'm here is to take pictures? Yeah, a photographer without a working camera is pretty ****ing pointless.

Edit: I also did some shopping at Mellow Johnny's (Lance Armstrong's bike shop) and found it to be overpriced and pretentious. I actually heard an employee asking why anyone would waste a Fizik saddle by putting it on an SE. It was at that point that I asked around for other shops in town. Kinda sad, really.

^wow what a ******. does your bike need to be full carbon to justify a fizik or what? how good does the frame need to be in order to have a comfortable ride?

everything there is overpriced, especially their services I hear... I wouldn't know anymore though because I never went back after my first visit.

go to fast folks. those guys are great.

Amazon + one day shipping for the battery? I'm not sure there's a cheaper way.

Today I checked out which of my youtubes got killed from the video killers. Luckily this one didn't.

Bikes: looks like a specialized crux now

awesome veodrome pics.

official write up
So I flew out to California to help my Grandmother fly back home to Alabama with my none-verbal autistic aunt. Grandma injured her hip a few months ago so she can't wrestle with her all of her luggage. and doesn't believe in traveling light. That also meant wheel chairs for them both on the concourse, and assistants. We got to the gate to find out the flight was over booked and the choice was a family of five with 3 small children, or us. Apparently my gram and my aunt were on the same confirmation number, I was not. So I got left behind, my gram and my aunt went home, and had assistance the entire way. I will be home some time after midnight tomorrow.

I went back to gram's house out here and cleaned the black mold out of the fridge. I want to go home

I'll check it out. I was planning on hitting Ozone today, so I'll add that to my list.

decided on Shimano 540's and Chrome Midway shoes for my first venture into clipless territory. not the perfect shoe, but as a casual commuter they fit my usual dress code.....

the r540 is a road pedal. You need shoes that take the 3 bolt cleats

I thought all the Shimano M(n) pedals took the 2 bolt cleats?

The m540 is the two bolt cleat design and is double sided. Great pedals, if riding fixed be sure to tighten the release setting quite a bit.

I feel like such a weenie riding fixed/full brakes. Problem is where I live people expect bikes to stop on a dime and will walk out in front of you or simply cut you off in their car in any manner they deem acceptable. That, combined with my decision to avoid skidding, means I have to rely on back pressure and, when the moment calls for it, use of both brakes.
