Awesome.

Last night my depression kicked in in full force. On March 26 something terrible happened and I just keep living it over and over in my head. I need meds... I can't do this alone anymore.

Today I hit the gear swap and scored a new Chrome Citizen for $60.00... put it on and felt like I should have had my radio on for work.

And I scored some other sweet schwag too...

Hell, I was watching a lot of snooker (a confusing billiards game) the past couple weeks and I never would have thought I'd find that interesting, but it was.

Snooker is actually a lot of fun to watch...at least to me.

Oh boy, any spoiler as to what the frame's going to be like?

LesterOfPuppets 05-06-12 04:30 PM

Today I got some gold Deda bartape @ the LBS for $11, best deal in town! Also got a Stradius Sport 26mm. Free 16oz latte and a 10% off next purchase coupon.

Was hoping to get a Diamondback Master TG frame/fork/brakes but CL seller is not very talkative. Fingers crossed for a call or email before I leave the big city. I mainly need it for the front caliper, current left side cabled caliper is bugging me. Maybe I'll just run right brake lever to front so I can call it good and tape my bars!

Or maybe I should bust out ye olde non-aero DiaCompe levers. Non-aero to wrong-side front caliper is a much nicer cable run than aero.

I have a good amount of time before I have to set anything in stone, so not really. I'll probably do a setup similar to Dan's RHC frame instead of the full on seat tube like they have on the site

so more this

Nice! This is going to turn out so beautifully. :)

I'm currently @ a bar enjoying a nice pint of stout while Strava is still running on phone in backpack. To lazy to stop it.

I will NEVER win Strava :(

hamfoh 05-06-12 05:02 PM

today I see this: http://www.giantnerd.com/outlets/tom...ntlink%2Bsales

now I'm guessing the frame is =| but wouldn't that groupo run you more than $1k?

edit: oh only available in 50cm

I'm a mix of depression and social anxiety disorder (s.a.d. :)) and I have been working with cognitive behavioral therapy. There's a book called Feeling Good that explains what is happening in your head and provides easy exercises to help reshape the way you think about things you do and happen to you. When you're depressed your view of the world is heavy distorted from how things really are. Short of going to a therapist reading this book might be the best thing you can do, and then the therapist may have you read this book anyway. It isn't about pouring your heart out and being psychoanalyzed

jimmytango 05-06-12 05:49 PM

I'm seeing a therapist. His diagnosis is severe bi-polar disorder with mild Asperger's. He says that we are going to try behavioral adjustment first, and if that doesn't work, he's going to refer me to a psychiatrist for meds. This **** sucks man. I just want everything to be like it was a few months ago. I was truly happy for the first time ever.

In lighter news, Peelander-Z is coming to town in ten days and I'm on the guest list with a +1. Hell yeah.

hairnet 05-06-12 06:51 PM

The ****ty thing is that before social anxiety disorder was "recognized" it was (likely still is) misdiagnosed as bi-polar disorder and/or Asperger's syndrome. I don't know you so I'm not saying what you are or aren't, I am just pointing out a fun fact I read while researching what I was diagnosed with. This whole thing sucks I'm glad I started therapy while my worst episodes started to happen

Watched a movie, ate, had a good nap... just made a run to refresh the adult beverages and topped up my flask for tonight's little ride.

Should be a gooder.

I don't get anxious in social situations. I actually thrive in them, as long as I know at least one person in it.

Part of my issue right now is that I'm beyond bitter about the situation I'm in. Like, spitting venom.

LesterOfPuppets 05-06-12 07:36 PM

Today I ordered a burger medium rare, a little bloody. I was so completely satisfied! Sorry I put cam a bit closer than its min focus range. Things are getting so much better than 1991 or so when I used to get told "sorry, you can't have mid rare". Back then I was like, why bother asking?, just cook 'em all medium well and call it good.

All the color in the lower bun is tasty blood.

jimmytango 05-06-12 08:27 PM

You mean "tasty myoglobin". 99% of the blood in an animal is drained in the slaughtering process. Myoglobin is a protein that happens to be red.

RGNY 05-06-12 08:27 PM

went from 45x18 (66gi) to 45x15(79.1gi).

not bad on the flat. will see what happens on the uphills on Tuesday.....

Santaria 05-06-12 08:46 PM

Did the Pedal 2 Padre 2012 (fourth year for me). 46x15 (81gi) and didn't have any real problems. Maxed out at 37mph.

Ran into a pretty sweet group of people down here so I finally found people to ride with. They all are more into distance-touring bikes (LHTs, Betsy Foys), but they're close to my age, have similar politics about riding versus bull****ting and seem like they'll be cool cats to hang with occasionally. Only other fixed-gear rider in the entire event that I ran into was running 52x11. I just about lost my manhood instantly at that gi.

LesterOfPuppets 05-06-12 08:52 PM

Yeah, that's it. Gimme my my my my myoglobin!

Damn, that's a big jump RGNY. I'm on 43x16, 71.9. I'm kinda wuss tho.

Dannihilator 05-06-12 09:00 PM

Today I had a good time on the dirt jumper, then serviced the riding mower.
