I couldn't sleep last night because I was excited about ordering bike stuff today.

Same here. The only one that didn't was a fine dining Kosher place I opened with a friend, and even then we made salmon "bacon".

Sorry about the last post. I had worked 40 hours in three days, was in a terrible mood, and was kind of drunk.

Today I'm having a lazy day and it is glorious.

Today my friend taught his son how to dig deep, and show his pain face on the bike.

Dude, she was 15.

Jay, that is perhaps the greatest photo ever.

It's legal somewhere!

Why would you not report it? Kids need to learn how to drive. Other peoples lives are at stake here. I'd rather not have air-headed 15 year old girls in charge of operating 4,000lb crushing machines rolling right next to me.

This.

Also, Stryper, did you seriously rattlecan that DA hub?

This made me cringe more than the gaping face wound.

Today I ordered everything I've ever wanted. Except a wheelset. I don't know what I want.

I totally am, but the child proves complications.

OMG, I just glanced at pic earlier and though, Hmmm, that's an unattractive wheel. I didn't realize there was a crime against humanity there.

ddeadserious 06-21-12 12:43 PM

I seem to recall reading that he disassembled the wheel completely and had everything powder coated that blue color. I don't remember 100% though.

edit: I don't even know. http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...1#post12059825

I totally forgot we're talking about bikes back there and the automotive part of me got in the way.. anyhow I was talking about literal torque that the tool can produce and to what ease for the user to do so, not what it can measure up to... not that it matters for our 2 wheeled human powered contraptions...

Anyhow, I forgot to mention that pictures can be deceiving, the park racheting torque wrench is a little more the size of a ballpoint pen...

seau grateau 06-21-12 03:07 PM

Did a nice 20something miles today, along the LA River path and out on the roads. Wiped out just a few blocks from home, caught some tasty road rash, bumped my head, and spent about ten minutes looking for one of the lenses from my glasses that popped out on impact. The bike and I are okay though. #success/fail/success

Nagrom_ 06-21-12 03:08 PM

I hate having to eat a bag of pretzels just to get to the salt at the bottom.

thewilson 06-21-12 03:14 PM

Today, thirty miles into my ride I had to call a buddy to pick me because the heat was too much.

Scrodzilla 06-21-12 03:37 PM

Seriously. I rode early this morning before opening the shop and it was pretty brutal, even at 8 AM.

yummygooey 06-21-12 03:46 PM

Yea, man... this 70 and sunny weather is rough.

I feel fine, just have that burning desire to ask for a million dollars from their insurance and buy tons of new parts for the bike.

Seeing as how I'm 23 and she was 15, not in the slightest. In three years she might be, don't know.

I rattlecanned the sh*t out of that hub before I built the wheels originally. Had the spokes and rims powder coated but the powdercoat would have melted the DA inserts so I just painted them myself.

I actually want to strip the wheels completely, polish the rims, get new spokes, and yes, drill holes in the hubs. Sexy sexy holes:

I just need to have money to replace the hubs if I ruin them.
