I rattlecanned the sh*t out of that hub before I built the wheels originally. Had the spokes and rims powder coated but the powdercoat would have melted the DA inserts so I just painted them myself.

I actually want to strip the wheels completely, polish the rims, get new spokes, and yes, drill holes in the hubs. Sexy sexy holes:

I just need to have money to replace the hubs if I ruin them.
I mean, it's your money and your stuff...

But...

F--k. For the love of burritos.

Today I had a blast throwing the dmr off of various features that were mostly not made from dirt. Also I think I am going to take a really long brake from doing anything DJ related, so sick of that drama.

did a bro ride. was bonking hard at the end, guessing not eating anything but a jamba juice all day is the reason. something doesn't feel right too. getting that clicking sound (checked everything I could from the side of the road).

can stiff chain links cause that 'clicking' noise on every rotation? felt like I upped my ratio 10 inches tonight, was strugglin'

Ran a ton of errands this morning and hung out with my favourite down town crew for a bit, went to physio for a reassessment and got my left hip put back into it's proper place (always good), and then went out tonight on the touring bike and stopped by the co-op to tune up our custom built tandem after bringing it back from repairs. Some as yet un-named and still to be beaten person extended the rear seat post to where there was only an inch or tow in the bike and they cracked the rear seatpost

Best news was that the physiotherapist has been treating me for three years, and has seen lots of ups and downs, said he has never seen me in better or stronger shape and that I need to keep riding my ass off as this is evidently the key to making a better recovery than anyone ever expected.

Back away from those hubs and put down the drill... they already have enough holes in them.

Today I worked, then hopped on the bike for some beers with jdg, and then went to dinner with a bunch of interns.

it was 70 in san diego today too :D.

looking at a temperature map of the country right now is pretty hilarious.
not too far east of here, past the laguna mountains (40mi?) and into arizona it's white hot.

I think we were pushing 90 here in Canuckistan... was 85 degrees at 5 pm.

On the bus with my wife on my way home from seeing my buddy Cinchel open for Astrobrite. ****ing killer. They're both ambient noise artists, but Cinchel is more "soundtrack to the apocalypse" and Astrobrite is more "Sigur Ros on acid". Good times. One of the only ways it could've been better is if I'd ridden my bike, but since wifey doesn't ride (yet) that wasn't an option.

In other news, the owner of my LBS has agreed to let my wife and me take out a bike for a few hours tomorrow so I can teach her to ride.

Yeah. What's funny, is when I mentioned to him that she wanted to learn how to ride, he offered. I tell everyone to go to that shop. It's awesome.

Edit: Does it piss anyone else off when the ASPCA shows their sad commercials in the middle of a show on Comedy Central? I mean, I'm sitting here with a beer and some Velveeta Mac & Cheese relaxing and watching some funny stuff, when suddenly there's a sad dog staring at me from the screen and I start crying and snuggling my wife's cats. If I wanted to cry I'd be watching Lifetime or something, not Comedy ****ing Central. You think their ratings go down when they air those because people change the channel so that they don't have to see the heartbreaking puppies and kitties that are begging for money with their eyes? Jesus ****ing Christ.

Today I found out about the Encino Velodrome. I'm gonna go for their beginners class next month.

lol just tried again on a credit card this time and it won't go through, guessing the amount is a red flag for my card company. I gotta stop waiting until 3am to try and place these orders so I can talk to someone

Today, my girlfriend knocked her iPhone off the counter into the toilet. FML.

Scrodzilla 06-22-12 07:51 AM

No, FHL.

If it just happened, pull the battery out and put the phone into a ziplock bag full of rice for about two days. Seriously. The rice will absorb all the moisture out of the phone.

ddeadserious 06-22-12 07:57 AM

Yep! Unfortunately, the iPhone's battery(or back) can't be easily removed, but we did turn it off and put it in a bag of rice right away. Hopefully it's still functional.

FakeFuji 06-22-12 08:03 AM

I don't think you should pull the battery out of the iPhone, it may brake

Missed the part about it being an iPhone. It should still be ok.
