Nagrom_ 06-26-12 01:40 PM

Today I now have a LBS that i can call my LBS. So happy. Last time I went in there, They were all dicks. So today I tested the water, went in, broke the ice a little, talked bikes, then asked if they had 1/8" bearings. They did, gave them to me for free. Ice shattered.

So I bought 4 tubes, 2 Conti GP4000s's, and a Topeak Pocket Rocket.

I'm happy, guys.

edit: its 70 and not a cloud in the sky.

All my stuff is drenched from the morning ride. I picked up my Sidis, tilted them forward and water started pouring out. Eff it, I'm getting a ride home from someone. I'll HTFU another day. Do not want 20 miles in soggy gloves/arm warmers/hat/jersey/bibs/socks/shoes/tights.

In other news, my A23 got delivered yesterday to the apartment office, assuming USPS didn't mess up again. Maybe I'll get some nipples (lol) today and I can ride over to the LBS to get the wheel built.

I just scored free tickets to Milwaukee Summerfest. Rad. Only problem is that on the only day that my wife and I can go, we have to choose between The Roots and ZZ Top. That's a tough decision, yo.

Just about perfect.

Augh... as much as I want to support my local LBS they are really making me reluctant to pay a mark up they did not earn.... idiot servant front desk guy totally forgets to mention that they require a 50% deposit for special order parts and does not call me to clarify this even through I left my contact info and does not to order the parts. Worse is when they seem to not know common business courtesy and neither call you the next day as promised nor call you later on to clarify this and give you an empty careless apology over the phone and not even waive it/ promptly order the parts for you. To make matters worse, you want to be courteous and not pushy by bombarding a small with limited staff with phone calls regarding an order.

I believe a certain well dreadlocked member here can help me...

Agreed. I actually *gasp* got up early and went on a ride. Since I don't have to work until four today, early is like noon, but still.

Today I sat on the stoop on the most beautiful day in weeks wishing my bike wasn't on a truck bound for seattle. My last two weeks in NYC and all I got are these stupid feet to get me around.

Ratio? or road bike?

RGNY 06-26-12 03:22 PM

Rode to work and back under low black clouds with thunder all around, but stayed dry.

Kinda wild for only 30% chance of rain, but I wussed yesterday and just didn't care.

Wat. 40mph at 71gi flat? You are more awesome than I, I can't spin 186rpm.

I actually really like 80gi for beginner sesh :\

86 feels sluggish.

100 is too much for me to turn. I r weakz

I think your hunch is right. That would require a cadence of about 190 on that ratio

Mumonkan 06-26-12 04:04 PM

felt like these guys:

ive really come to enjoy sprinting as my favorite activity on my bike

we tarck the races on thur? weather plz cooperate.

i haff 15/16t cogs on the way. hopefully they get here before thur so i won't be tarcking at 74 gear inches and capping out at 30mph like that beginner class.

Strava track or GTFO. Those Kirin dudes are elite level athletes. If you are not, you were not going 40mph on a flat with 71gi.

Also, the only reason those guys hit that sort of cadence is because they are on stationary rollers where things like road and wind resistance do not exist.

c0urt 06-26-12 04:43 PM

94 in the middle of the day today.

we were worried about a co-worker today because he was taking to long on a delivery.
he shows up late and sweaty, apparently he got surrounded and harassed by three cops for running a stop sign.

I guess lucky for me I wasnt on my bike today. I was doing catering because that means I am probably going to jail tomorrow if they are harassing for running stop signs.

Jaytron 06-26-12 04:45 PM

Come to think of it, I haven't hit 40mph on my road bike in a flat sprint.

40mph in a sprint finish is about Cat 2 levels. (dat google search)

Dafuq is this, the road forums? Next thing we'll have people claiming a 24mph av uphill into headwind claim.
