Today was pretty laid back and therefore awesome day, plus I came home to homemade donuts and nearly every offering of girlscout cookies.

Time to stock up on thin mints.

OT : Today I went on a ride with Jaytron. About 50 miles total. We met up and rode along his commute for 30 miles. The unique purpose of this ride is to stay in zone 1 - about 60% of your max heart rate.

Low-stress training days are fun when you have a riding partner.

I love my wife's bizarre tastes in reflectors.

Today I shall be purchasing my first car, ever, at the ripe age of 23.

'94 EG Hatch.

It's weird not living in a city where I can bike everywhere, and the commute to work is balls.

I like the colors of the godzilla better but if I chose a BK color it would've been scrods (so damn you). I can't wait to see it with those wheels built up

I'm glad I didn't get one. Had two friends with them and I was bored after 3 sessions. After that I'm like, "I'll just watch and drink, thanks." :)

Dannihilator 05-01-12 06:29 PM

Today I had a good time at the pumptrack/dj's.
Tomorrow the new(to me) bike comes home.

jdgesus 05-01-12 06:55 PM

today, my IT band still hurts like a mother ****er

Dannihilator 05-01-12 07:10 PM

It's going to.

LesterOfPuppets 05-01-12 07:17 PM

Today I read the BMX Plus article on their badass carbon ride. 15 lbs and $3300.

Seems heavy for a bike that only comes up to your knees ;)

I think they used this frame, looks the same to me anyways. Most if not all other parts different from pic.

I was 23 when I bought my first car. 1970 VW Type 3. Paid $200 for it, sold it four years later for $100.

LesterOfPuppets 05-01-12 07:45 PM

Today you're looking @ $2000 for one in OK condition

I just wanna ride a bike.

cc700 05-01-12 10:43 PM

i've seen one of those redline carbons.

it was broken and a dude was picking it up from our shop.

i didn't know it was that expensive. it's a nice frame but...

well, racers break ****. that's what racers do.

Leukybear 05-01-12 10:45 PM

Today I turned my schwinn paramount into a campy equipped townie. BWAHAHAHAHA it is now a shadow of its former self. Bye bye aero seatpost & cinellli cockpit and hello mustache bars w/ basket & brooks.

I always thought carbon and Ti parts on a BMX bike was a bad idea. The first real popular Ti frame I remember was only like 2 lbs, and they even came with a warning about street/park/trails use, and how it could break like a piece of paper. And the frame alone was $2000.

Jaytron 05-01-12 11:18 PM

Today my Garmin 500 came in and I finally got to see what zone 2 really is for me. Faster than I thought.

Today I bought a used Deore DX front derailer thinking it will do me well with my triple crank. Go home and realize it's a top pull - DO'H! this is what I get for hardly riding mtbs

Sixty Fiver 05-02-12 02:26 AM

Just wrapped up for the day... spring cleaning in my shop and uncovering stuff I forgot I had and have to ask just how many sets of tubular wheels does one man need ?

Figure I will be salvaging some of those hubs for other wheel builds and will keep a few sets on hand for the road bikes.

Can barely turn around for bikes, frames, and parts everywhere... guess I should get to building some of those up.
