Also came up with a better wheel build than previously mentioned. Sacrificed some weight for strength and aerodynamics. Time to start putting some cash away.

Same profile as Mavic Ellipse, Bladed spokes, 30mm deep. nearly 500grams lighter, and should be stiffer with a 24h rear, compared to Mavic's 20h. Also comes in around the same price point, $50 cheaper before labor.

Pretty much an improved ellipse clone. I'm pretty satisfied. Should get em soon enough.

PM me doze specs bb.

Today I had a good time on the dirt.

There's only one solution. You have to **** his *****.

I'll just post the specs here, when I get home. Too hard to type on an iPhone.

So invictus wants to talk to girls that are semi cute and not annoying as hot dogs?

Today I completed my fixed gear build. Am happy. Maiden voyage tomorrow with Jaytron and Jandro - 40 miles of cruising fun :)

Dannihilator 04-05-12 09:54 PM

Very well done build at that.

Stezzy 04-05-12 10:03 PM

Today I took my new GP4000S's out on their first ride. It was amazing! Those things felt like they could roll forever. So smooth and grippy. Even with a headwind they still felt 100x smoother better than my old tires. Could not be happier.

jimmytango 04-05-12 10:13 PM

Check your tension man. Looks slack to me.

Today I hung out with a friend, did some riding, got a few books about starting a new restaurant and finding investors, found out my Rev-X shipped, and now I'm going to go self-medicate my depression with some whiskey.

xavier853 04-05-12 10:26 PM

Tonight, im pretty damn drunk (birthday).

Both of my bikes are at the shop, due to be finished tomorrow. Feels really lonely and pathetic without a bike. But whateves. Got class tomorrow anyway. THey be callin me after and my bikes be done!

Nagrom_ 04-05-12 10:29 PM

Finally home. I hate Thursdays.

cc700 04-05-12 11:02 PM

last night i:

built up my front wheel at el tracko boutiquo.

today i: rode my track bike to work without tightening the axel nuts past hand tight. hate on lawyer tabs all you want them ****s is AWESOME.

yes, i did this knowing full well what i was doing and that it could have killed my bike and me. yes, it was the stupidest thing i've done in years. yes, i regret it. no, it didn't kill me. my commute is 1.6 miles.

tonight i:
made an awesome brat dinner, and watched happy endings on hulu. when dave holds alex's hand at the end of the reception it's probably the most romantic thing i've seen this year on tv that isn't on Parenthood or Adventure Time.

Yes, i'm a total **** for saying the above and NO i'm not ashamed. **** lyfe *****es

HAPPY BIRTHDAY XAVIES!

Nagrom_ 04-05-12 11:04 PM

For those who cared:

Front: 20H radial
1x KinLin XR-300 20H [465g]
1x American Classic Track Front 20H [105g]
20x Sapim CX-Ray Bladed Spokes (4.344g at 260mm) [86.88g]
20x Sapim Polyax Brass Spoke Nipples (.9g at 14mm) [18g]
20x Velocity Velo Plugs (0.15g ea) [3g]

Rear: 24H 2-Cross
1x KinLin XR-300 24H [465g]
1x American Classic Track Rear 24H [180g]
24x Sapim CX-Ray Bladed Spokes (4.378g at 274mm) [105.1g]
24x Sapim Polyax Brass Spoke Nipples [21.6g]
24x Velocity Velo Plugs [3.6g]

Front: 678g
Rear: 775g
Total: 1453g

Depending on color choices just under 500 before labor and shipping (retrogression quote). You can also sacrifice aerodynamics for cash if you need to, and use Sapim lasers to shave off about 2 bucks a spoke, with barely a change in weight. 400+ grams under Mavic Ellipses advertised weight of 1895g, both being 30mm deep, with bladed spokes, although this set has a 24 spoke rear compared to Mavic's 20 spokes, which would theoretically make it stiffer.

Once I get a feel for the velodrome, (hell, I may hate it,(I doubt it, but it may happen(we'll see tomorrow))), this build is going to the top of my priority list.

This build was the result of my break in between classes on Tuesdays. First class ends at 11:20, next class starts at 6pm. I get bored. I get productive.

craigcraigcraig 04-05-12 11:40 PM

Today I went to see explosions in the sky.
