Since the topic of the week seems to be wind:

Today (and this whole week) I realized that, in my city, there is a headwind no matter which direction you ride.

It's like that here too. One of the drawbacks of living directly on the coast.

It was already dark out by the time I got home, so only crappy indoor pics. Hope to get some nicer pictures in the sun this weekend. Haven't done anything to it yet, not even take off the reflectors. The shop put on a freewheel and flipped the stem for me.

I live in Chicago. I have witnessed flags on flagpoles blowing one way while the wind blows at me in the opposite direction. I'm still not sure how that works.

The one great thing about chicago is how astonishingly flat it is.

I like the color of your walls

Today I finally fixed all the little problems in my bike (stiff chain, half link to get 18t/15t to work, install new bottom bracket, grease/clean everything, install pedals/cleats), and finally rode it! Went clipless, best decision I've ever made. Good day.

Leukybear 04-22-11 07:21 PM

I was reunited with a friend I have not seen since last year.

Today I ate some pavement on the way to class in the morning and volunteered at the co-op in the afternoon. Two different folks walked in with broken spokes on their 26" rears, so I essentially did the same thing twice. In my down time, I pulled down the shop scooter:

(similar, but not ours)

And added a piece of plastic onto the rear brake bridge that rubs against the rear tire so it sounds like a weed wacker when you go. It's pretty awesome.

Plus, I got sick after my ride yesterday and now I feel like crap.

How does one fix a stiff link?

I swear I get one every time I use a chain tool.

Squirrelli 04-22-11 09:07 PM

Today, I volunteered at the co-op, lots of people but fun day.

Also waiting for them to hopefully hire me.

google it, park has a great video tut
basically, you wanna move the small "pieces" laterally (imagine milking a cat)
then move them up and down (imagine moving a volume lever up and down on a dj turn table)
if its still stiff, take the chain tool and twist it 1/8 of a turn, if it stiffens more, twist it from the other direction 1/4 turn (to compensate for the 1/8 turn you did earlier)

hope my weird descriptions helped

Today I... ran a buddy to our customer oriented LBS, a little far, but a good shop, to pick up his new SRAM wheelset.... NIIICE!!! He bought lunch..Famous Daves BBQ (not bad at all!!!)...came home, had a few Shiners and thought about wrapping the bars on my new FG/SS project with my new SRAM tape I bought today, but it'll wait until tomorrow. I'll get pics up when the bike is mostly done. Had a great time and ate too much.

Robofunc 04-23-11 05:49 PM

Today I worked instead of having fun at a local alleycat. It's all about that paypuh.

xavier853 04-23-11 05:50 PM

yummygooey 04-23-11 05:55 PM

Watched Tron and worked on a Fluid Mechanics lab. Both are lame.
