Rival with Force shifters. Excited to see your build! :)
I would personally go for Apex but I'm a cheapskate.

Ultegra......
Today I: Continued looking at parts for the new ride as well as tested some shifters like Sram Red, Force, Rival, and Shimano Dura Ace, Ultegra, and 105. Decisions decisions... .Chris |
I bet.. anyhow I'm getting that woman there to make me one of those large gift bows from scratch ribbon and the gift card is going in the card/ envelope.
One thing I want to share, is the build ended up pretty close to a stock GDi2 in a way, minus just the lightweight wheelset and of course the wireless DA shifters, but orbea was nice enough to leave routing for cables although it took some trial and error to figure out without the white papers that come with the bike. Oh and did I mention I started getting jealous at it compared to my older model? Orbea tweeked the orca quite a bit since they made my model, many small improvements that do make quite a difference! |
i dont like the wiggle on the brake lever from shimano brifters... but i dont like having to buy a whole new groupo.. i did put DA DT shifters on one bike just cuz i hate the wiggle.
try campy then... <ducks> |
today i skidded all the way thru a tire and tube at the same time (miles from any salvation).... guess i needed the walk
|
oof. i done did that downtown and walked two miles home.
today i commuted on the kilo and got mad hot |

want red... theres was red mini group on cl....
|
Today I was cleaning my apartment, and while washing dishes a plate shattered in my hand giving me a solid gash on my right thumb. Nothing major, but unpleasant no less.

Today was supposed to be the nicest day of the week so I went and tried out my new bibs and jersey on a ride around Bellingham. Now I get to chill out on my deck with a lemon coke and bfssfg

I need to get around to trying out some others so I can understand better why RED is the way to go... I got SRAM RED because it was the right price... Tallied everything up and realized my red/force group set ended up costing me right around $600

Today has been the 7th day since I've had my 3 month old Australian Shepherd pup. Just starting to chow a biting problem, need to work on correcting that, get him to stop being so damn lazy, and let him socialize more with strangers.
|
Today I put off yet another road ride for a session @ the pumptrack. Road rides for the rest of the week though.

Today I cleaned the bike, bought a lockring tool, tightened everything up, and did some short rides around town running errands. Now I'm sitting here deciding on what my first "touring" ride should be. Quoted because it will probably be a medium ride for most people. |
I was just in NYC and within 20 seconds I saw an Orange Eddy Merckx and some dude on a Keirin frame bombing a hill in heavy traffic. I've never seen so many ****ty conversions either.

Today I got my stitches removed and went for my first bike ride since having double hernia surgery 12 days ago. I rode my 1 x 7 rigid mtb w/o any foot retention, cuz I'm not supposed to strain my lower abdominal muscles at the surgical site for another month so it heals properly. I'm still a bit sore, but it feels great to be back in the saddle, even if it was only a short and easy ride. It's been hella hot and windy here for the past week, and today is the first day that it's less hot and the winds have died down.
