His argument was that he was a commuter and he rides everyday therefore he should get put to the front of the line. He came to pick it up today, right as we were closing, and yelled at us again because he said we miscommunicated with him and put on more expensive cranks than he wanted even though they were the only ones that would work for his bottom bracket and we told him that. My manager told him to leave so he ended up not paying at all and then said he'd tell everyone he knows never to come to our shop again.

He made a huge deal out of nothing because he wasn't the most special person of the bunch and caused a whole ruckus while we were closing. I'll be glad to never see him again.

edit: Went for a ride to a local park with my girlfriend, I gave her a purple Kilo on Friday night and this was her first chance to ride it. She got used to fixed surprisingly quickly and it fits her perfectly.

Your shop probably could have handled it better; politely telling him he's just like eight out of ten customers is dumb... you should have said "we do good work that takes time and we finish customers bikes on time... we don't make others wait because someone else thinks they're more important. if you want that, go find a shop with a lot of unfinished bikes around and throw money at the mechanic until they compromise their integrity."

really when it comes down to it, your manager sucks. the manager is there to make sure those situations don't get to that point and don't end like that.

and even if your manager doesn't suck... because honestly i don't know how it went and your manager may not have had any chance to intervene... striknein's right ... can't please everyone. that kind of interaction is part of retail.

My self-fitting had me in a week and inefficient position. An expert bike fit is FREE POWER and EFFICIENCY. Well...maybe not free. But, well worth the fit fee.

With the right frame of mind (and as long as it's not too cold) riding in the rain is fun. Just have to remember to give yourself a few extra feet stopping distance... The lightning was a little scary but mostly just cool looking. Made me feel even more badass.

The storm this morning was sweet. The storm going from the burbs towards Chicago wasn't as bad as the rain two weeks ago (couldn't see past 10 feet on the highway due to the torrential downpour), but there was some really cool lightning.

That being said, I don't really enjoy riding in the rain if I'm trying to go somewhere. I'll occasionally go ride in the rain for fun, though.
