Today I was going to buy this: https://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/bik/3047398209.html
But now I'm not since I'm a mature, job-seeking adult. No more sick fixie conversions for a little while.

Bit of good news, which is kind of a nice change, the guy I'm working for later this summer said it would be cool if I brought a bike up. With the foot being meh, I may head up later than expected, so its gonna be hot as ****, so i most of my rides would be closer to night time. Never really ridden at night.
I always hear it in my head as "dooorra aitchee", after hearing so many Japanese coworkers trying to pronounce English words.

Today I've completed my perfect cog changing combo! Finally received my shop grade chainwhip and I promptly proceeded to violently pry off the now mangled wimpy stock 3/32nd chain for a worthy 1 1/8ths replacement.

Sucks to hear nagrom.
Today, I woke up to find that I had a front flat on the 930, so I had to drive to the lbs and pick up a new tube. While I was there, I also had gotten new bar tape since I hated the texture of the bar tape that was on the bars. Once home, I fixed the flat, valve stem was coming off of the tube, and put on the new bar tape. Then went and put in 32 miles. All in all, a good day.

Today I worked at the shop. We got in the most wack stack of the year (decade, century?)! Big magnet top cap, caliper brake bolt to pull it down. 3 other odd parts used as a top seal and spacers under stem...

We had some dude come in today who refused to accept that $50 won't get him a brand new bike, and that he couldn't give us $50, ride a new one home after he swore to "come back tomorrow, srsly, like with the rest of the cash"
Just sold the wellgo pedals for $25 on CL. Completely funded my 105's through craigslist.
win.
Won't be able to use them for hella long.

Bikes: looks like a specialized crux now
My uncle handed me two bikes to put together so he would have something to ride for exercise these days.
Apparently these are the bikes he and my dad rode when they were kids. I also rode my dad's bike when I was a child as my first rode bike.
You can easily tell which bicycle was mine and dad's. It is more than 40 years old, still shiny in some places, rusty and dented only a few spots. Shifts and brakes perfectly for a bike I haven't seen in years. No reflectors or lights, or padding on the seat. My uncle's bike on the other hand. Padded seat and bars, a horn and lights and is a lot more comfy. But no were near as fast
Seeing my first bike does shovel up a few old feeling if nothing else. I do admit I have no desire to ride the thing again. As far as I feel it probably is a death trap at this point considering the rust and dents.
I would much rather give my uncle a newer bike than put him on either one those, but it was nice to see that one again. I am debating keeping it for sentimental value. Or just take some pictures and then get rid of it considering the space it takes up

Today I got my 722 built up, which my brother affectionately dubbed The Stormtrooper.

Better pictures to come. It was dark by the time it was all finished. Took it for a maiden voyage of about 20 miles, was feeling good so I went to the casino. Won $15 at the craps table.
First impression is that this bike is awesome. Much stiffer than my Globe Roll, and now I've got a seatpost that I can adjust and shorter (165mm) cranks. It felt great. Still have some saddle adjustments to make, but I think I'm pretty happy with this.

Ride wise... fitted my newly built 7 speed block to my folder and took it for a good 24 km test ride to test the much wider gear range and was a fairly perfect day for this as my ride out was on paved roads and into the wind and then on the way home I bombed into the river valley and then found some decent climbs on the way back.
The 1.5 Marathons under my bike handle gravel really well... came up this little hill like it wasn't even there and impressed a few folks who were riding mountain bikes.

Today I had an interview and I think it went pretty well. Met a bunch of different people and the hiring manager said I have a "great energy" and she would be in touch in a couple weeks with next steps. More importantly, I went from being lukewarm about the position to being pretty excited about it.

I hate bike thieves with a passion.
Was riding back from downtown and passed the shelter and a guy pulls away on a new Kona Jake the Snake CX and rides up to the convenience store so I stopped to grab a drink and compliment him on his ride which he just left unlocked.
Without batting an eyelash he said he just bought it for $100.00 and thought it was a little "warm"... was too close to scumbag central to f with this guy as I could have dealt with him but had no idea how many friends he had a block down the street.
Called EPS to file a report and they said they would send some nice fellows in that direction to have a chat with him as the value of the bike justifies a response.
Now I have to send out feelers to my contacts at all the shops to see if anyone is missing their sweet assed cross bike.

sounds like by the way he treats it that he'll be 'getting his' in no time.
