Well, I did 50 miles, stopped at work to grab my check and get a beer, and now I'm working until midnight. Some day off this is. Other than having a van almost take me out while honking and throwing a 7/11 soda at me, it was a good ride though.

Bikes: everywhere

I love Super Big Gulps!

Today my ride was more sedate. Head in the clouds on a pink bike:

The sidepulls kinda get me hot.

And I sold the Aspen for $90 within an hour of CL posting. Didn't bother single speedin it. Need to start asking more for those. People starting to recognize the beauty of Tange MTB frames, even if they got 200GS hangin' on 'em they're like gold!

On my way home from work:

- Car full of ******* teenagers starts shouting at me. I roll up to them, look in, and they just point and laugh while rolling up their windows.
- As I was rolling up to the car full of ******* teenagers, some old jerk-off in a panel van lays on the horn.
- Third car follows directly behind me half the way home. No lane changes, no speed-up, just cruising along at 20mph hanging on my rear wheel.
- Roll up to my garage door and I see some toothless, Crocodile Dundee-looking ******* creeping along in a crappy van in the alley past my house. He rolls by and has the gall to start asking ME questions about whether I live here or not.

I deal with nothing but abuse and scorn for 8 hours a day at work (customer service rep for a local utility). I don't understand why I can't have 10 ****ing minutes of peace on my ride home, without being accosted by all manner of ****head drivers along the way. My nerves are so shot, I'm sitting in my office with my headphones on, listening to nothing, shaking like a leaf because I'm just so angry and frustrated. I need a hug.

Bikes: Bike Count: Rising.

Today I busted a chainring 1 mile into a ride. So it wound up being another street ride day.

Atleast it wasn't 40 miles from home, what happened to the chainring?

Bikes: Bike Count: Rising.

Chainring bolts snapped when climbing, resulting in a badly bent ring.

picked up a used 51t sugino zen from some guy selling on denver's craigslist. can't believe those don't pop up on ebay more. will be selling my 49t shortly!

@ddavid. yeah, I don't understand why a $3000 bike (closer to 4000 msrp really) comes with $20 tires. it's so stupid. luckily I have some barely used gp24s just sitting around I can slap on.

Imagine you own a business. It's a slow night, so you cut someone early. Do cut the guy who works 18-20 hrs/wk and begs for more, or the guy who averages 60+ hrs/wk and is working on his fourth day off in nearly a month? I think I work for a moron.

I'd cut short the guy that is working on his fourth day off so the guy who is working 18-20 hrs/wk can get a little extra time. At least that's what my head is telling me.

I found a pile of dirt in the backyard that needed diggin', and I diggin'ed it. Then I went and got a frozen banana and a grape lemonade.

Next week is going to be like Christmas for me. I hope everything get's to me in time, cause I'm leaving to bumf*ck, CA, next weekend, bout a 7 hour drive north from from the bay. The small stuff is shipped, I get cranks tomorrow, but don't get the tools to install them until thurs/friday(I hope to god) next week. I hope I get everything by Thursday, so I can spend Friday building, and drive all Saturday, then I'm in the boonies, completely off the grid, for a month.

Break in my legs, and the bike. Should be nice.

You are probably way better at the job than the other guy, so you being there is like having 2 of the other dude

Agreed. (FYI, I'm the one who is always at work.)

Yeah, I was drinking heavily through the entire shift. I had started before I got asked to work, and I wasn't planning on letting work get in the way.

This is true, which is why I'm still at work.
