Was offered two very tempting very sw8 fixays. So many sw8 fixays, so little money. Rent? What's that?

hairnet 09-07-12 08:04 PM

Today I logged in to EAI. So many NOS parts, so little money.

Dannihilator 09-07-12 08:23 PM

Today I had an mri on my right shoulder and threw the dmr around some.

IthaDan 09-07-12 08:23 PM

Got the armadillos off the merckx and put on a pair of PRO3s. Amazing the difference. that bike has come alive.

Well that's a website I didn't need to know existed.

I've been looking everywhere for these, I know you can't share what the prices are, but would you care to play a higher/lower game with me...? $125?

I did, and ordered the same frame from a different ebay seller, who shipped the next day. This thing shipped on the 2nd, got here today, rather than October 22nd...

Just need to wire it up and throw the chain on.
~China biek 80% kummpreat pic~

Who was the seller? I have some parts bin gold that needs mating.

Looks good, too much black and white through; needs red accents. :innocent:

Seller was a_baygoods:

Same seller I bought the wheelset from, generally arrives in less than two weeks, about 8 days. He packages very well.

Waitaminnit. All that stuff isn't really available is it? I just figured it was olde unattended online catalog pages.

What about http://www.bikepro.com ? That stuff is mostly archival, right?

Mumonkan 09-07-12 10:10 PM

I can't look at it right now but that is one of the things I too want. My SR doesn't have down tube braze-ons but I want 8 speed index dt shifters.

There was a good thread a few weeks ago on C&V about the long term availability of NOS parts. Apparently there are warehouses stocked with old parts and hoarders with stock piles of parts that they won't give up.

Damn, EAI has 180mm Sugino touring cranks :-|

cc700 09-07-12 10:44 PM

realized i can get discounts on soma, pake and cinelli. oh crap, life over.

Actually the clamp does nothing for me. It's the levers themselves. I have two 8 speed tricolor bikes with STIs now, and at least one of them would have come with DT shifters originally. It'd be cool to have the option. That being said, I can't find 6401 DTs ANYWHERE.

I didn't know it existed either. I created an account, but I can't see prices on anything, or it'll say $0.00. How do you order anything from this site?

hairnet 09-08-12 09:33 AM

dealer account

jimmytango 09-08-12 10:05 AM

Yeah, I want one.

Unless you own a bike shop, you're not ordering anything directly from EAI. Luckily, I know a guy who has an account. :innocent:

I just looked up those SL-6401 shifters and they are available.

Weird. Then why did they let me create an account if it's not good for anything?

Unfortunately, I don't think any of my local bike shops deal with EAI.

Today I:

160-ish

Have a good day

Scrodzilla 09-08-12 10:58 AM

Lower.

hairnet 09-08-12 11:03 AM

Today I:

Or am I confusing it with something else I was looking at. I have been browsing it constantly because the shop is going to put an order soon

IthaDan 09-08-12 11:18 AM

OW. The bike was only $400. Might stick it out with STI.

I forget how heavy the NOS tax is sometimes.

jimmytango 09-08-12 11:21 AM

Performance doesn't have an EAI account. That means all of my EAI orders will he coming from Scrod.

misskaz 09-08-12 11:33 AM

Today I wiped down my bike. Damn, that thing was dirty. In doing so I realized how jacked up the paint is on my frame. Not sure if it's just a not-very-durable paint job or the yellow color makes chips more obvious, but my frame is a wreck. :( My 3-year-old commuter looks in much better shape and I ride that thing in the winter and it has way more miles on it.

TMonk 09-08-12 12:11 PM

Last Night I: Track race for the first time.

Today I: Road biek for 3.5 hrs w a solid hammerfest in the middle. I thought I would be more beat up after tarck racing and a couple beers, but I found some legs and towed around the Swamis "B" group for a couple hours. Guess I shouldve joined my homies on the A today

NO!! Pikachu can't be damaged! But seriously, the paint on cheaper bikes like our fixed gears isn't that great. My Lager is pretty ****ed up in that department, too.

How was the race? I plan on going out somewhat soon, since I work right by a velodrome.

AristoNYC 09-08-12 01:04 PM

Today I am going do to a lot of stretching & myofascia release (foam rolling) to get ready for my first 75-100 mile fixed gear ride tomorrow. the most I've done previously was 40 miles.

I also ordered this - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...A2D3QT4PZ4HTUD
I think it will be fun to ride around with in the winter.

#yolo

A little history: Made in Mexico by an ex-Cinelli framebuilder - when Windsor was owned by Acer-Mex Corporation (hence the Italian/Spanish spelling of Profesional) - and often referred to as "the poor man's Cinelli". Tubes are Columbus SL, dropouts are Campy and the BB is Italian-threaded.

Not entirely certain about the year but the seller thinks it's a 1973, which is kinda cool because that's when I was born.

striknein 09-08-12 02:13 PM

So ****ing jelly.

Scrodzilla 09-08-12 02:16 PM

I wish it was still the original molteni orange w/ chrome lugs but I'm still pretty stoked about the wheat gold re-finish.

striknein 09-08-12 02:17 PM

I like that the guy did the lug lining sparingly.
