I just installed that same chainring. Seems about as heavy as the 53t it replaced.
It's a shame there aren't more decent options for single compact chainrings.

Today, I did a bunch of work to make a slightly bigger chainring fit.
<stoolcrorybo>
Since my bike started out as a mountain bike, it didn't have much chainstay clearance. I've been wanting to bump up my gearing a little, but didn't want to go smaller than 15T on the cog. So I took the bottom bracket apart and used a 1mm freewheel spacer to scooch it over (you can see a shiny sliver next to the bottom bracket shell). I repacked it, mounted a 42T Sugino ring I had lying around, and it all worked. The 41T ring I was using is below it.
This raises my gearing from about 69.4 to 71 gear inches. Yay.

If needed, can you mount the chainring on the side closer to the arm?

Today I tried to but brakes on my sqrl's bike.
Realized that these risers aren't a 23.8mm clamp size, but are a 22.2mm clamp size. God damn it.

As far as helmet talk just buy one you think is cool and wear it everytime you stem off the bike, your ride around the corner could be the time you need it most.
For the break just cut a section of a tube and slide it over the grip and it will be fine

Today I've been looking up ultralight touring equipment and experiences, as well as making a mental budget. I'd like to do some ultralight fixed touring later in the fall.
I just stayed an extra 2.5 hours at work deep cleaning my bike simply because I didn't feel like going home and sitting alone. On the bright side, my bike is likely cleaner than it was out of the box.
Dude, I hate people.
Took the Corvette out with the sqrl to let the wheels turn, and to get something to eat in the process. Go to Five Guys, get a burger. Someone decides they'd like to try and steal the car or rifle through it or something that required my window to be broken.
I literally have a separate club lock on the steering wheel, gas, brake, clutch, e-brake and stick shift. What the **** were they thinking?
They're damn lucky I didn't eat outside.

That's ****. I once caught a guy testing car doors, including mine, to see if any were unlocked.Another time, one of my professor's car was broken into and my artwork was stolen.
Today I was tipped several times for just fixing flats. I wish that would happen every time

Today I did a 101km fixed gear road ride by myself in the morning then a 52km SS mountain bike ride with a friend in the afternoon.
50km into the road ride I checked Strava and it was telling me I had ridden 17 km at an average of 104 km/h, Strava hates my phone. Good old cyclecomputers never failed me.
Some friends are doing a 42km MTB ride tomorrow morning but I don't think I'll be able to get out of bed, i'm way too tired.

Sette means seven in Italian, so $7 USD.
Tell pricepoint I said that and it'll totally work.
I wasn't even aware pricepoint had branded hubs...

That said, I do pretty well with my Eureka Solitaire, a Therm-a-Rest Neo Air, and a cocoon sheet. It's a pretty cheap way to get started, and you should be able to fit it all in the tent's nylon bag.

Today I found this over at PBK

Where's the love for 'murica Thomson USA?
~For the record there has been rumors of one in the stars & stripes but it's currently out of consumer reach... unlike this one which obviously shows thomson has Olympic fever.

I spent some time planning out how I can make my 94' (Vintage?) Cannondale MTB into a touring bike.
