It's not like that... like 6 of each one lol. And I can't drink. So there :p |
rode my 48x16 fg conversion 41 miles rt on my commute. Made it home in 1:35 in a temp of 95F and 65% humidity. It was smothering. Rolling hills w/t last 6.5 miles a 500 ft climb in elevation. Wish I'd had the above refrigerator and contents. :p Had to make do w/a tall glass of ice water. Not a bad 2nd choice, but a beer...:) Yeah, I really need to get some beer this weekend. :thumb:

Went to work, resisted the urge to buy some All City New Sheriffs to TB14 Prototypes, realized I really want some compact drops with hoods, tried out the Nitto RB-002s, got my AmgenTOC jerseys, played some Black Ops, ate some peanut butter filled pretzels.

Blops.

Today I saw an Eddy Merckx frame in the wild for the first time ever.
It was awesome. And huge. |
...just realized the love for the Peugeot conversion.
She's a doll that does it all, unconditionally. |
I made it home tonight despite severe exhaustion. Thx bonfire, I love getting home at 3:30 in the morning.
|
Godspeed, Avner. Gods'speed.
|
I got home last night :p Hairnet was smart, he bounced early. I stayed until they kicked us out, then we went to another Rider spot and hung out for another hour and a half.
|
If the fish aren't biting, time to find a new spot.

Today I am watching on twitter as my friends try to track down a stolen bike. It's a very tarcky, recognizable bike (has even been made fun of on BSNYC a few years back) so it's been fascinating to hear about the sightings and how many times it has already changed hands. It's crazy to hear reports like "bike was sold for $27 to guy in a DirectTV van" or "bike was spotted; saw people trying to saw ulock off of it" etc. The cops have been surprisingly helpful because we've been able to get reliable sightings. Apparently as of this morning we now have an address, cops have been called, not sure what's going to happen next. The guy it was stolen from is a sweetheart; I really hope he gets his bike back.
PS if anyone in chicago sees a grey bianchi pista with pink deep v's, hubs, saddle, and grips, let me know. |
Today I took a much deserved day off. Watching the tour, and going to throw a leg over my bike after, something I never actually do....

today i have to work but really want to ride

misskaz, someone on ChiFG posted about some dude trying to trade him some pink deep V's to pink Phil's for an Eighth Inch frame, and I remembered reading this post. Did your buddy have that wheelset (I doubt many people have that wheelset...)? Any details you want me to ask for?
Thanks for thinking of me and my friend... He's got a new bike now and has probably given up hope. Although I'm sure he'd love to get his old bike back, it's clearly been parted out. Busting the dude(s) would be cool but I'm not sure it's possible. I hate bike thieves. |
today i got my MW vandal back from warrantee repairs.
welcome home HUGE backpack... forgot how big it really is (after wearing a small chrome messbag in lieu) |

i was hoping i'd get a new bag! LOL
one of the zippers came off the track. they're reverse/seemless/welded zippers for waterproofery, so i thought repairing it ment redoing that whole section... which would have been easier to just give me a new one! but alas... they did just repair it. (kinda glad, cuz i had the straps fit to perfection) also, a few of the cam buckles had broke (looks like i got whole new inner strapping on that one) and the carbon fiber backing is new too i think (even tho i didn't complain about that) as it is now a better shape at the top of it. took about 3-4 weeks to get it back (they fedex'd two day'd for return) so, the bag is now better then when i first got it, in terms of function at least |

Please tell me more, as I'm seriously considering this bag. What was the process? The damage? The turn around time? The repair workmanship?
check out mission hills bike shop! they've got a few mission workshop bags there and I'm sure the staff has some experience with it. |
25k late-morning ride before the weather goes to hell. Then checked shipping information on parts. Placing bets on an ebay item from the UK arriving before Nashbar's slow as hell shipping.
|
Good ride today, 25 miles at 16.7 avg, working back into my old form. Slowly. 60 miles at 17.5 avg is still very far away
|
found Selle Italia Flite in the donation bin at the co-op, $5 for my brother. Then, I taught him how to breakdown and assemble his BD bike. I also caught sight of a Backwards Circle bike
|
Good find.
Will probably do 11 miles to hang out in the early evening, 11 miles back at night. Gotta find some batteries. |

today I noticed the clicking noise returning
came home, another loose chainring bolt, tightened it, checked arround and found another, but this one I can't tighten enough to get it to stop moving. I'm starting to think it's stripped? I eventually stopped in fear I was doing more harm than good, but I can tighten all the mfers but this one. Am I okay to ride with it with just one bolt loose? Standard Omnium crankset. Which of the chainring bolt options at UC for them should I get if I need them? The black 10 piece? |
