Bikes: A growing pile of them.

started polishing some campy hubs. replaced a room mates brake pads. I wasn't going to tell him, but I figured that surprise might end up hurting.

Met up with hairnet for a little riding. Went to Forest Lawn for a little climbing, but got kicked out at the top. Apparently you're not supposed to ride bikes at one of my favorite places to ride. So I did some more hills on the way home and then made coconut cookies. Now it's time to go bribe the bartender with coconut cookies.

Went for a nice recovery ride, had lunch at Native Foods (vegetarian chain. Amazing.), played some disc golf (sup bro?) at a new course in a sculpture park near my house, now I'm going to an improv show. Not a bad day.

Oh, I also gave my co-worker the first half of the money for my new Basso. I'm pretty stoked about that. In a week I will be the proud owner of a classic Italian road bike.

Today I:

Met Seau today. Hi, Seau.

I got a front flat today while riding out to meet Seau. It was a nice big sidewall cut in my GP4000 this is the second one I lost due to a sidewall slice.

I drank tons of water today and i still feel dehydrated. It is too damned hot

got my rim tape today, installed it on the new wheels.

Then mounted my gp4ks's, after installing the first one I thought to myself "wow, not living up to the conti name, that was a breeze."

Second one made me eat my words. That thing was a ****ing bear to get on.

Funny, I run the foldable Gatorskins, and have never had any trouble mounting them. I never even use a lever.

PS- Sup hairnet

Commuted the 3.5 miles to work for the second time today. This was the main reason I built up my first FG, and I'm loving it so far. Still having to tweak some stuff to get the fit right, but it feels better with each ride.

I'm actually surprised at how natural it feels to never stop pedaling. I was worried I'd instinctively try and coast, but it hasn't really happened yet. In fact, the thought of going back to a bike where I couldn't slow myself down using my legs kind of freaks me out a bit.

My wife has ADD and her brain's wired backwards. Drinks coffee when she can't sleep and it knocks her right out. Hell, a piece of chocolate cake makes her drowsy.

Back in the day they used to give kids w/ ADD a little cup of coffee in the morning when they got to school, helped calm them down for the day.
