Having blurred vision keeps my other senses sharp to provide heightened awareness of my surroundings. Vision is death!

No glasses. Can't see. Don't want to.

Today it's hot. Temperature reading on the bank said 110 earlier, down to 106 now. Punk rawk and sending out job application emails next to my air conditioner all day.

Man, **** that. I'm really glad that its cooling off here now. Highest temp all week was like 80. Next week its shaping up to be right around 70.

That's obvious.

Nagrom_ 09-14-12 06:44 PM

Bike rode well. I'll put some real miles on tomorrow.

Just looked in the mirror. Turns out my glasses bruised my nose in the process of essploding. So word, **** glasses. Glasses are for ugly nerds.

I just found some things out that make my earlier situation a little more clear. A friend is going through a hard time, and another friend seems to be implicating me in it without any basis to do so that I am aware of. Hopefully both situations right themselves soon.

I got my Performance Bikes team jersey and some new shorts today. Pretty damned comfortable.

Tomorrow, I can't decide whether I wanna go to the velodrome or go see Andrew W. K. and The Descendents play Riot Fest.

Today I woke up far too early, ran around, lifted some weights, and was back in bed by 9pm. no friday classes FTW. later in the day I almost got truck sticked by a foreign student preem-rushing on the sidewalk at night on mtn bike. just now got back from my evening ride where, ironically enough, I almost hit a dead squirrel on the road :( (a real squirrel)... poor little guy...

Today I drove some 650 miles to PDX, cars man why?
On another note, I really wished California has some derivative of Oregon's sweet Cycling "Share the road" vanity plates. Also lovin the complete lack of sales tax.

Downloaded Black Mesa. GOODBYE WEEKEND!

Tonight I realized that since I cut back on the drinking my tolerance has gone way down. Two beers three cocktails and a glass of port and I'm drunk ha. Wow. You are all wonderful.

Edit: That was the ****tiest being-drunk time ever. I randomly woke up completely sober four hours later and have spent the last two hours trying to get back to sleep. I just keep thinking about ****. It sucks. Something happened that would've made me unbelievably happy a few months ago, but now I'm just sad because of it. Part of that has to do with me being a bit less selfish these days. I miss a few of my friends that I don't see anymore, and I wanna go ride bikes with someone soon. Le sigh... Good days and bad days, eh?

Today I reminded myself that it's not the best idea to rub your eye while chopping habanero peppers.

hairnet 09-15-12 09:01 AM

oh mai gawd

Today I rode 30 miles in this perfect weather we've been having here. Washed up and hit the liqour store and the feed store for chicken food. Gonna whip up a good meal with the wife then take the girls to the park to play and collect butterflies. Then relax the rest of the evening with said liqour.

Today I'm checking BF (now part of my morning internet routine) from a hotel in Denver. Agreed to sub for a friend who couldn't make a show at the last minute and went from 'no real plans tonight, gonna stay home' to rushing to LaGuardia with a record bag and 2 mixers. Anyone here from Denver and not doing anything tonight?

Oh, and to make this somewhat bike-related: my pinky/ring fingers are starting to heal after my fall on Monday (both got sprained worse than i initially thought) but scratching records tonight is gonna be interesting. And I saw a Pista Concept locked up downtown last night and wondered how long that would last in NYC.

Yeah, there is a special level of "WTF did I just do??" reserved for that particular situation. I've done it...and almost panicked.

+1

Don't scratch the inside of your ear by sticking your finger in it and wiggling it around either. NEVER AGAIN, i honestly thought i was gonna go deaf.

I learned how to make jerk sauce from scratch when I worked at a Jamaican restaurant. It took that one time to always have a box of latex gloves nearby when habaneros are involved, especially when one batch (a blender full) called for 10 of them.

RGNY 09-15-12 11:21 AM
