I was making bacon-wrapped jalapeņo poppers for an employee party a couple summers ago. Halfway through de-seeding I decided it was a good idea to go to the bathroom. What happened after this was a series of embarrassing, naked and painful events. Can't imagine how bad habaneros would've been.

Sick of the wife today, so I packed up all my books and borrowed a conference room at work to get homework done. This, apparently, is my life now.

I once scraped and de-seeded a bunch of jalapeņo peppers using my fingernails. Took me a while to realize why underneath my fingernails were tingling.

Today I don't have a cone wrench for super phat BMX axle. 18mm not big enuff. :(

Today I put in 36 miles. And tonight my neighbors are throwing a party. So for the next few hours is relaxation/chocolate milk/ maybe some food time. Pretty awesome Saturday.

Ended up going to my hometown to take care of some things. This place sucks and I can't wait to get back to civilization.

Today (within the hour) while running an errand for work, I rear ended a car that had practically cut me off and stopped. I went up in the air and landed on her trunk. Quickly I gather my stuff and went onto the sidewalk. She got out, asked if I am ok, and when I replied that I was alright she just left. GREAT! I'm fine but my frame is impacted. I didnt have time to catch the plate and cars were obstructing my view right away. I limped several miles back to work.

Well, now my SR is dead :( I wasn't even supposed to work today! I am covering for the other mechanic. **** this and all the stupid ass drivers that need their licenses revoked. At least I have two other bikes but this one is my baby.

Adrian_ 09-15-12 03:54 PM

Really sucks man. That bike looked like it could handle anything.

hairnet 09-15-12 04:07 PM

Yeah, I was really hoping that it would be a bike that I own for many many years.

today i commuted with my new cockpit

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=273047

damn things are like a recliner for my hands compared to thin floppy origin8 bullhorns with old tube bar wrap
sealed bearing headsets are hotsauce too

was worried about the stem/bar logos clashing with the rest of the bike, but apparently it brings the whole thing together, downtube decal and armadillo logos all match up excellently

love this bike.

now to take a nap, then make a fantastic meal with gf and friends of untold proportions and magnitude

Oof. Bummer. Time for moar bieks.

Today the father of my best friend passed away, he was on his 40's, a very healthy and active man, died unexpectedly. Went to the hospital thinking he had a kidney stone, it turned out to be a tumor, he didn't survive the surgery. Caught everyone off guard, it really sucks to see your friend in such pain and not be able to fix it.
Felt like **** the whole day, there's a long MTB ride planned for tomorrow morning, that may help me clear my head.

eh except everything here on CL is over priced. Annoying as ****. I dont know. The build is geared towards an endurance bike, gotta find something else with eyelets and room for big tires.

Nagrom_ 09-15-12 08:06 PM

Bought a camera today. No more potato shots.

Leukybear 09-15-12 08:28 PM

Sorry for your loss hairnet, that sucks. The same goes for you Magaiver, unexpected losses are hard.

solipsist716 09-15-12 08:32 PM

Really puts things in perspective. Sorry magaiver. You too, hairnet, but at least it's just a bike.

What a ****ty day. My dad decided to remind me of what a failure I am in his eyes, while eating a steak that I was paying for, I can't stop thinking about yesterday's events, my wife got sick while in Indiana, a friend is going through some hard **** and I want terribly to be there for her but I can't...

To Hairnet, but more so to Magaiver, sorry for the losses. **** sucks.

Today needs to be done.

cc700 09-15-12 11:44 PM

i think you both are some really great people and there's no use in accepting someone else's disappointment. it has no bearing on your potential or happiness.

sorry for losses too. everyone be excellent to each other.
