Really? I don't know why I even rode bikes before I had Strava
|
It's a lot nicer if you have a garmin. My 500 is pretty awesome and it has some ok gps abilities if you get lost. Plus Strava kills your phone battery on longer rides.

agree on the garmin, if i turn everything off and use my iphone 3gs i get about 6 hrs max out of it before it dies still a total data ***** though, i strava all my commutes just to keep track of my mileage think im gonna have to wait till xmas to get myself a nice garmin though |
Today I almost rear ended a lady because she cut me off while pulling out on to the road. I swerved around, lucky no one was passing in the left lane, and paced her for a bit, right next to her window. She looked shocked that I was even there. So I screamed at her for a little while.
Cars, man. Why? |
Today, despite a cracked rear rim, I went for a 40 mile road ride.

Today I am exhausted. Goodnight SSFG. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/image...ferent0023.gif

Plan for the week (bear with me, cuz it's a good one): tomorrow, work and hang with friends. Wednesday, work and hang with wife and friends. Thursday, solo (most likely) century then relax. Friday I work, get paid, and am hanging with wife and friends. Saturday I'm (hopefully) getting my velodrome certification and going to a Sprint clinic with Giddeon Massie and Jamie Staff. Man, this week has a ton of potential.

I'll be celebrating my birthday by going to the lbs and getting a Specialized saddle, and then going to the gym to do squats.

Today I'm allowed back here again. So much has happened since I was last here, not even sure where to begin...
1. You guys were so right about Vittoria Randonneurs - slug central. I went from size 28 Randos to size 25 Zaffiro Pros and the difference is astounding. Learn to change the occasional flat tire, and it will set you free. No need for bombproof tires. I haven't gotten any flats yet with the Zaffiros, and they literally weigh half as much. 2. Bike Polo is awesome. I built four mallets and picked up a cheap beatup hybrid w/V-brakes off Craigslist ($50). Mallets cost about $10 each to build (used ski poles from local shop, hockey tape, HDPE heads, hardware). Also grabbed some super high density hot weather hockey balls (non AGS). Been out screwing around once or twice to work on my "skills". Going to start going to the local pickup games to watch, and play (once I get my bike set - still need crankset, convert rear wheel, and add spoke guard to front wheel). I bought some straight bars for $7 on CL and chopped them down a bit, added Oury grips. Also took off the size 35 tires and put my old size 28 Randos on it. Those are the two biggest new things I guess. |
