I have the one on the leftmost as well; is it a spoke card scrod?

striknein 10-12-12 04:14 PM

Sorry for your troubles Charlie. I lost an aunt to lung cancer, it was really tough to watch. My mother-in-law just started chemo for breast cancer, it's tough to stay upbeat when you know how much suffering is about to commence.

RGNY 10-12-12 08:13 PM

enjoyed a bottle of Brother Thelonius. not a bad American dubbel.

used "gay/Takei" in a group that may have taken offense. my buddy and his husband use it freely, so i forget it's still touchy in some circles. just can't win....

got my replacement chainring bolts. chainring is now centered as well as it ever will be. will upgrade in the spring, after the salt has had it's way with my drivetrain.

Nagrom_ 10-12-12 08:29 PM

Got my Shimano R087's today. Pretty please for $35 bucks.

Dannihilator 10-12-12 08:34 PM

YoEdgar 10-12-12 10:23 PM

today i
chilled all day because im getting sick. We had a random day of rain and cold winds yesterday it was weird.

researched locks all day. to anybody that commutes here and locks up daily do you recommend 2 Ulocks + cable for your wheels or U lock + heavy duty bike chain (kryptonite new york chains/onguard chains). I live in las vegas and work on the strip so we definitely have shady people.

Depends on what release mechanism your front wheel has and how nice it is. If QR, lock it up w/ rear wheel in bigger Ulock and onto something. Another Ulock or cable lock on frame to object also. I only use a small Ulock on frame + medium thickness cable around wheels. But I don't have QR, and not flashy (cheapish) wheels, and don't leave parked for too long.

no QR on my front wheel and the wheels are nothing expensive just a cheap set of deep v's. Im lucky enough to where my job lets me bring my bike inside and put it in the storage room. the locks are more for when i am just riding around or i am doing errands. I don't see myself being in situations where i would be having to lock it up outside all day/night.

Today I:

Today I set out in hopes of a 40 mile ride. I made it 4 or 5 miles and climbed to the top of a small canyon to head into the Valley. Once there I stopped an realized I felt too ****ty to go down and back up to get home, so turned around took the hilly way back. I don't know what happened but I feel gross now.

If you're gonna do two U locks, the cable would really just be for show. A mini U using the Sheldon method plus one big enough to go through the front rim, downtube and pole should probably suffice. That said, the addition of a cable may cause thieves to move on to the next guy's bike. I'd advise against the fat chain cause they weigh a ton and if you rock it around your waist hipster style and take a good spill you can shatter your pelvis.

Me and my wife too. It was worse for our uncle, who was with her for a long time. There's nothing to say or do about it except get through it whichever way you can.

Heard a terrible review for that on the radio. I wanna see Argo and 7 Psychos.

Broke my drive train down to give it a good cleaning. Rode through some unexpected rain two days ago, and things weren't spinning smoothly. Cleaned the chain, BB, chainring, cranks and cog, re-greased and reassembled. My back is calling for a workstand, this is BS.

NateRod 10-13-12 03:51 PM

Saw 7 Psychopaths yesterday. Not too bad.

The cable doesn't necessarily have to be just for show. It can also help keep the saddle anchored down to the bike.

Today I:

Yeah, don't forget your saddle. Some are a bit tougher to get a cable through if they have a lip around the rails like a Turbo. Then there is the chain method.

seau grateau 10-13-12 05:07 PM

Rode 17 miles in jeans. Derp. Now I'm gonna pig out and play Minecraft for the rest of the day.

YoEdgar 10-13-12 06:20 PM

Today i worked but that went by quick.

also ordered my Ulocks + cable for wheels/seat (thanks everybody for the input on my question) and won a pair of deda newton road bars on ebay for $1.81 lol.

now to chill before a bar ride later.
