You should be ashamed of yourself.

Today I'm not sure if I can get away with wearing shorts on my ride or if it's time for pants.

Because Chic-Fil-A and the controversy surrounding it pretty succinctly sums up exactly what the hell is wrong with this country, as it relates to its domestic policies. And nobody with a conscience should support those scoundrels.

Actually, all I really know about it is that there was some controversy. I never looked into it. But here are my thoughts in general: all big corporations are evil and money-oriented. The only thing that really differentiates one from another is whether their dirty laundry just happens to be aired at any given moment.

In Corporate America, there are no good guys and bad guys. There are just bad guys. And if you want to take a moral stand against any of it, your only real option is to go live in the woods and live off the land. But even that's becoming a problem, because now everything but the most rural back country is owned by someone or some corporation or government. It's a crowded world, only getting worse.

Yeah man, f*ck chicken sandwiches.

Scrodzilla 10-11-12 11:07 AM

I bet Phil loves Chik-Fil-A.

prooftheory 10-11-12 11:40 AM

Today I saw road crews painting bike lane markers straight down the middle of Elmwood (the main hipster street). I somehow doubt this will change anything.

Nagrom_ 10-11-12 11:40 AM

Actually, I bet he hates it, hahaha.

zoltani 10-11-12 12:36 PM

Today I will go to fremont to buy more deliciousness....

I keep understanding how someone could go postal

lady again leaves the note for 2 packages without knocking. I get them, go to post office, wait in line, they look forever and realize the address is written down wrong. 10 min later come back and say 'oh she's still on her route, she should've checked this 'come by after' box'.

mother of god

nevermind the sign taped to the door that says 'leave packages on porches please'

and people wonder why usps is going bankrupt

hamfoh 10-11-12 02:24 PM

As soon as I started dealing with them on a semi regular basis (last 12-18 months), I stopped wondering that

They should just make all stamps cost a dollar. getting something across the country for 50c is ridiculous

Scrodzilla 10-11-12 02:33 PM

Every day at right around this time, A dude in a blue Subaru WRX flies by the shop and grinds his gears coming around the corner. Every. ****ing. day.

It amazes me that he hasn't figured out how to shift by now.

Agree!
They always talk about revenue, competition causing usps to loose money but they never talk about basic business practices like putting the customer first.
USPS is horrible, the people are terribly trained and it's almost designed to cause customer hostility and employee apathy.
Any business like that should go under. They never address it.

i love my RS.

cc700 10-11-12 04:14 PM

contemplated if i wanted to buy mission workshop gear or fund a long haul 26" build with raw rust acid clear a la sizemore:
http://www.sizemorebicycle.com/proje...lack-commuter/

i am leaning toward the LHT build but the lack of horizontal dropouts hurts a bit. and the new mw stuff is just... so... awesome...

nothing makes snese andymo

Probably not, but the "sharrows" are a sign that the city is becoming more cycling-friendly, which is a step in the right direction.

On a slightly related note, I get to go back to Buff tomorrow. Heading to the sushi joint off Elmwood on Lexington as soon as I get home. Excited.
