Today I: Fell off my bike. Broke the silicon strap of my Knog Blinder in half Now I have to contact Knog to see how much for a replacement. I'll even buy a new blinder if I have to, I seriously love these lights.

I wouldn't sweat it; knog treats their own very well.

Today I literally have no idea why I haven't quit the paper. I get paid nothing (almost literally. you make more in a week than I do in a semester. stipends do not rule.) My editor just called me down to the office to get a staff picture taken, and when I walk in (have to be let in because I'm STILL the only member of the staff without access via keycard) she tells me to hop on my office comp. and email her a photobooth picture. I'm still waiting for one of my articles to not be ****ed up by them layout-wise one week, by the way. Last straw.

Did anyone else notice it looks like a second bike landed near him at 0:05 but when the camera pans over there's only one.

Awesome, that's good to know.

Also! Today I (well, last night technically) ordered a Euro-G cap from Retrogression. I've been eyeing it for awhile now. Hopefully it fits my small-afro'd noggin'.

got to work and coworker said he "almost" hit me this morning. i don't remember anyone getting that close. i asked him where and it's an uphill blind turn, where drivers like to use the shoulder as another lane. granted it was dark out, but i asked him if he saw the flashing red lights on my bike (Knog Blinder 4v). he said yes, but that i startled him. i asked him why i startled him and he started to get a little shifty. i said "you were talking or texting (around a blind turn) weren't you?". he said yes. *sigh*

i told him he was better than that and not to be a ******.

You traveling to Chile or Argentina at all? I lived in Costa Rica for 6 months and Chile for 10 years, while growing up. South America was a great experience.

Yeah thats intense. Sounds like you handled it well. Its incredible the way many drivers still allow themselves to be distracted at the wheel. Years of riding Motorcycles on Socal roads has forever changed my attention and reaction on the road. There was a lady that was hit while riding a, few blocks from my house, about 3 weeks ago. Quite sad

On the way to work today, the sun was rather blinding, and this dumb lady started changing lanes into me, bumped my mirror. She stopped and there was no damage on either vehicle, but it was still irritating.

Friend of mine started bike commuting to college with me, he bought a cheap road bike and is really stoked on riding, it's nice to finally have someone to ride with.
Brought his bike home, gave him a better seatpost and some toe clips and straps I had laying here.

Today I'm being fairly productive. Took an exam this morning, rode to the Secretary of State since the big 21 is almost here, and then I came home a typed a paper. Now to skim the last 150 or so pages of a book, and a meeting to with an advisor to get some financial things worked out. And its only Tuesday.

I am going to register my second car in a couple hours, then post up my first car for sale, since I don't want it anymore.

Hawaii has pretty much killed my love for cycling. Despite the great weather, people have no idea how to drive out here.

Yeah, it's a rough one. It's really too bad. I used to take a bus from UH to Hawaii Kai, then ride to makapu'u almost daily when I was a student there ('01-03). I'd nearly get into a fistfight on a daily basis on the road around the east end to sandy's.
