They are really nice in person, especially the price, I won't be too sure on quality until I receive the prescription filled frames however. I got two pairs with lenses for less than I pay for 1 usually.

More like Gordon freeman, working in a plasma physics lab. Nothing desk about this job.

please specifiy, for my sake and for the sake of all the nerds on this forum.

Just classical mechanics. Wrapped up the section on projectile motion, now on to Newton's laws and force interactions. I never had physics in high school, so this is all really fun and new to me right now.

I recently decided to finish college so I'm completing prereqs for an environmental engineering major. *Wooh being 25 in freshman-level courses!

SpeshulEd 03-08-13 10:24 AM

Once you've got your prescription and pupillary distance, the internet is your oyster for getting glasses! I have 6 pair; though only 4 I wear with any regularity. Most of them are from coastal.com. Your first pair is free, though they limit what frames you can get free. They don't have the try-on setup like warbyparker but if I'm getting pairs of glasses for $50 or under, I'm ok if once in a while they don't work out. It helps to measure frames you know work well for you and get more stuff that has similar dimensions. (If you do check out coastal, do me a favor and use that link so I can earn $$ for referrals, woo.) There's also zennioptical.com, cheaper both in price and quality from coastal.

I thought the big selling point with Warby Parker is that every time you buy a pair of glasses some indonesian kid can suddenly see how awful his bike looks.

nice man, do it up. while not as conceptually and intellectually challenging as upper div. physics courses, gen. physics can demand just as much computation and focus.
Environ Engineering is a great way to go, you can land a sweet career job w good salary and benefits right away. It was (well, Environmental Resource Engineering) the #1 major at my college (Humboldt State University), typically required 5+ years to graduate and saw kids starting off at 60K+ annual.

In retrospect I wish I would have done engineering (chemical). Since graduating in 2010, I've learned that I think more like an engineer than a scientist in the workplace. But thats what grad school is for next year

Today I found this funny old thread.http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...-Relief-Breaks I'm not sure if that is proper etiquette or not, but any way enjoy.

Dannihilator 03-08-13 03:58 PM

Today I put in a decent 40 miles, cleaning and enjoying a beer at the moment.

Classic trolling right here. Truly artful.

Hieberrr 03-08-13 04:28 PM

The weather here in Toronto was relatively nice, so I took the bike out for the first time since last September. Legs feel dead man. Getting off the bike to walk it over a bridge felt awkward as hell . I also used Strava for the first time and it said I travelled 25km, so that's good. Hopefully I can keep this up.

FMB42 03-08-13 05:10 PM

Today I centered my chainring. Wasn't too bad before, but now it's definitely better.

Tomorrow I'll be looking into getting my first pair of glasses. Yep, getting older is getting to be a drag...

Dannihilator 03-08-13 05:31 PM

need a neww drivetrain, front chainring just got trued for the 2nd time.

I need to do this too, mine is noticeably more off center than it used to be, to the point where it's so loose at the loosest point I feel like the chain could almost flop off, but it's still as tight as I'm comfortable with making it at the tightest point.

Yeah, from homemade hubs!

Very cool Mr. Sixty.

Picked up a carbon trek frame and two vintage mountain bikes today at the cornell police bike auction. Pumped.

seau grateau 03-08-13 09:29 PM

Today my bikes arrived and I unpacked. I learned that if you try to remove a bottom bracket fixed cup without the right tool, you hurt your fingers and it doesn't come out. Tomorrow I hit up the LBS for grease and new cables/housing.

I picked up my second Bachelor's degree when I was 38 (that was 20 years ago now). Refused to take Psych 101 -- just took their final exam to get credit and did fine.
