Today was a really cool, chill day. My mom took the day off of work, since she never sees me or my brother anymore with us off at school, so we just got to hang out. Went to breakfast, which ended up being free, then the museum for a new Titanic exhibit they had, and then came home to whip up some dinner. One hell of a wednesday.

jdgesus 03-06-13 07:29 PM

today was really wet outside

Dannihilator 03-06-13 07:34 PM

Today I had a nice solid 40 miles.

IthaDan 03-06-13 07:56 PM

Buddy of mine picked up a frame jig the other day. Neither he nor I have much of an idea what we're doing, but how can it really be to make a frame?

Today we figured we'd start by trying to fit two tubes together. I'd laid maybe with his TIG in the past, but never with anything round and never with anything this thin (but still ******** thick on a bicycle scale).

The left is pretty much the second thing I've ever [arc] welded, and the right is the third. I have a newfound appreciation for the amount of fitment (and sanding, and sanding, and filing, and sanding) needed to get a good weld.

I have a long way to go, but this is encouraging.

long story short, I'm entering the realm of all kinds of bicycle related mayhem. Tomorrow: fillet brazing and the beginnings of a tall bike. Pumped.

I tried riding, all that happened was getting knocked around and tearing like a baby. Kudos to him though I guess.

Dannihilator 03-06-13 08:32 PM

The winds were not that bad here...

Mumonkan 03-06-13 08:37 PM

Lucky you, almost ripped the doors off the golfcarts we use on campus

AristoNYC 03-06-13 10:16 PM

They cancelled my Motorcycle Safety Course because of the bad weather (looks fine to me!) so now I have to wait two weeks to get my license.

hockeyteeth 03-06-13 10:39 PM

It's been windy here in FL, too. I almost got blown towards a curb while negotiating a turn yesterday on the moto and had to push off the curb with my foot. Scared the piss out of me.

Finally got my appetite back today. Haven't been able to keep anything down since Sunday.

Quick way to lose some weight, haha, but being sick sucks.

i'm naturally decent at TIG, but horrible at everything else (I've done brazing, oxy, MIG and stick)... wish i had some detailed shots of the tall bike I TIGed for my final project.

TMonk 03-06-13 10:58 PM

BigglyPuff 03-06-13 11:40 PM

Biked to work for the third straight day today. We just moved so it's 5 miles away now.

Loving every second of it, it's literally a dream come true for me.

We still have a car and it has it's uses. But I will say that for me, driving to work every day was poisoning my soul. We aren't meant to drive.

EpicSchwinn 03-07-13 01:24 AM

Today I'm doing business policy homework until tomorrow morning. It is going to be a LONG night.

hockeyteeth 03-07-13 02:23 AM

Right there with you, bud. I'm doing physics all night.

25's.

Today I did hill repeat loops. 1:50, 25mi, 3,500ft with this stupidness at the end. The last 1/5th of a mile has an average grade of 21.8%

Cynikal 03-07-13 02:46 PM

Gave notice at work. Feels good man! New job starts on the 4/1.

**** that. I mean, on the one hand, it looks fun in the way that any challenge is fun. But, I come from a place where you can ride 63 miles with 35 feet of elevation (according to Strava, which isn't the most accurate thing in the world.), and where my all-time biggest climb is 473 feet. I had bigger in Austin, but here, where 99% of my riding has been, it's flat. Therefore, I say **** that.

63 mile day. http://app.strava.com/activities/43529562

The two feet into Indiana that I went was enough for me.
