Today I got to help a buddy of mine upgrade his CPU after work, antiquated hardware but it was a hell of an upgrade. LGA775, he went from a whimpy pentium 4 to a core2 extreme quad that he happened to have scavenged out of a dead gaming rig at a flea market. And just like that he went from using a sub $150 CPU to one that had an MSRP of ~$1400 alone.

jimmytango 11-15-12 09:54 PM

Nice.

Went and saw Wreck-It Ralph with a friend. A tall, bearded, tattooed guy walking into a kid's movie with a 350lb black guy gets a lot of strange looks, haha. It was a great movie. I was pleasantly surprised.

Nagrom_ 11-15-12 09:56 PM

Today I'm ****ing broke and I ****ing love it.

Muffin Man 11-15-12 10:00 PM

Wreck it Ralph was cool. I enjoyed it.

Training.Wheels 11-15-12 10:03 PM

Wreck it Ralph is awesome. So are the movies Sinister and Chernobyl Diaries. Watched all in the theaters the last couple of weeks. Next on the list: Cloud Atlas, The Dinosaur Project (looks stupid but whatevs), Upside Down and ....Breaking Dawn II.

jackss731 11-15-12 10:08 PM

Cloud Atlas was actually pretty freaking awesome. hard to follow at the beginning and the future era is insanely hard to follow with their dialect but i still thought it was an good movie!

Mumonkan 11-15-12 10:17 PM

today i finally scanned my wet plate collodion photographs i took of my scrambler build last semester, and im gonna show you it all cuz im kindof proud of it. (wish i had a pr0n worthy bike to shoot but i work with what i got)
plus i get the feeling that some of you shutterbugs could geek out on it:

this was displayed on a wooden display that i made using old tubes as a black backdrop and shelves from old chain for each plate, ill get a picture of it someday

glass plates cut by hand
chemistry mixed by hand from scratch

bicycle built by hand

Seriously? I had a friend of mine tell me to not waste my money on it.

Dannihilator 11-15-12 10:21 PM

Very cool.

He was probably one of the confused ones.

And nice wet plate shots!

ddeadserious 11-15-12 10:22 PM

Very cool Mumokan, glad you were able to get it up!

Nagrom_ 11-15-12 10:23 PM

well personally I would never pay 9.75 to see a movie or however much it is and yeah you dont have to see it in theaters but its worth watching at least. Although I respect a friends opinion, I wouldnt prematurely make it my own.

Nagrom_ 11-15-12 10:34 PM

12.50 here.

Training.Wheels 11-15-12 10:39 PM

$4.00 a ticket here in the Philippines. Trying to watch all the movies while I'm here. Like Morgan implied, the Bay is a little expensive.

Muffin Man 11-15-12 10:52 PM

8 bucks for century tickets at costco.

striknein 11-15-12 11:03 PM

Got my Chinese Magicshine knockoff today. HOLY **** IS IT BRIGHT.

jimmytango 11-15-12 11:07 PM

The theatre by my house has matinees for $6 and normal tickets are $8.50. Also, full bar and it's next to a Chinese joint that's open late.

Dannihilator 11-15-12 11:19 PM

I don't remember the last time that I was in a movie theater.

Nagrom_ 11-15-12 11:22 PM

First "goin out" date with the sqrl, like 3 years ago, was to see some movie.

first actual date was a bike ride, haha.

Mumonkan 11-15-12 11:29 PM

still cant get mine to ride bike in the street, or anywhere over a mile.

but thats kindof ok cuz riding is my quiet peaceful time/anger & frustration release time

A good friend broke up with his girlfriend today, so we ended up at the bar for $2 doubles to help him forget. And then we went to his apartment and all of a sudden it was a party. People just came out of the woodwork. But what he took away from all that is that we were there for him, and that he knows he has good friends to help him through this. I mean, two of us that were at the bar with him are going through the exact same thing.

And $2 doubles means you get ****ed up pretty quick, and without breaking the bank. One of my favorite bars around here.

Today I stopped at the beach and the tide was low, so I spent like 45 minutes combing the rocks checking out the now exposed marine life.

So. Many. Mussles.

Met up with James(Bat56) this morning to go riding before heading to work, what a cold morning but well worth it.

hairnet 11-16-12 10:10 AM

I was hanging out at the co-op last night and found an old Cinelli Unicanitor in the saddle bin. It has a weird reputation but I am going to give it a try. I also bought white SPD pedals. all for aesthetics {-:
