ive also heard cleaning with a mixture of water/glycerin helps prevent fog (at least on bathroom mirrors)

and new lights

ETA: i am so in love with the floor pump! it has a screw on chuck instead of those ones you just jam on/yank off with the thumb lever. takes slightly more time but i don't scrape the **** out of my knuckles trying to yank the thing off when i'm done. so awesome.

ColonelJLloyd 11-17-12 03:21 PM

Today I cleaned and polished some Record/Super Record stuff and chili is simmering for dinner. Now I'm gonna head out for a ride.

Everything but the guy didn't have the cap for the stem or the hoods

Nice! Yeah that nickel shaped plastic piece is gonna cost you if you want a proper replacement. Hoods shouldn't be that bad through.

hairnet 11-17-12 04:52 PM

Purists might want to kill me but I dont want a bunch of the original parts. The bike has tubular wheels so I want to built a tubular rim with my Ultegra hub and ride the frame with my 10 speed 105. I just want to keep the DA brakes and I have to keep the seat post.

cruiserhead 11-17-12 05:15 PM

Those look just like my Record hubs, except cleaner :)

misskaz,
how are the Knog lights? Are the bright and worth the $?
I'm running a little Nightrider LED setup that is nice but want a couple more, and I like the Knog style.

TMonk 11-17-12 07:01 PM

just sold my first car. im a real man now.

jdgesus 11-17-12 08:45 PM

today i brewed back to back a ginger saison and a belgian style tripel

almost done, getting ready to pitch the yeast.... but there went my ENTIRE ****ING DAY (most of which i spent drinking anyway..)

Dannihilator 11-17-12 08:53 PM

Today I did some yard work than got in an easy 36 miles.

cali_axela 11-17-12 08:57 PM

Put in 20 hard laps at the polo field track, then heading home decided to detour over the Golden Gate bridge for a few more cooldown miles. Started pouring rain halfway over the bridge, ride home was sloppy and awesome. I don't usually skid much, but I couldn't resist in the rain, kept my back wheel locked down pretty much every steep hill.

LesterOfPuppets 11-17-12 09:15 PM

Today I rode in the pouring rain but actually enjoyed it. What makes some rain rides enjoyable is a total mystery to me. I was even wearing jeans and not even close to waterproof shoes and it was still fun.

well i just used them for the first time tonight. i will tell you: they are called "blinder" for a reason. super bright! and i like the build quality. so far i think they're worth the money.

if you're interested, a fellow tiny fix bike gang member did a detailed product review of the same lights which is what convinced me to get them. her post is here.

jimmytango 11-17-12 11:48 PM

Spent two hours on a trainer tonight before going out to drink. I just fed a bunny sock puppet my bellybutton lint. What is my life?

striknein 11-18-12 12:51 AM

I'm not even gonna.

Muffin Man 11-18-12 01:20 AM

There was this 2-3 hour window in the afternoon where it was really nice outside, but I had homework to finish :(
That sucked.

cali_axela 11-18-12 01:48 AM

^ my ride today spanned the last 1.5 hours of that window, then about a half hour of crazy rain

Nice! I just ordered a set. Very good review

Today, or should I say yesterday morning, I should've ran fenders for my morning ride after night showers, a part of me wanted to throw them on but the other thought it had dried up enough.
Ended up getting amateur streaks on down my backside and a very gritty drive train. Which led me to discover that I'll be needing my 3rd cyclone chain cleaner... these things just don't last!

jimmytango 11-18-12 02:19 AM

I've had mine for over a year, and it still works fine, and the one at the shop is around six months old and gets used 2-3 times a day and is fine. What are you doing to yours?

Street rider 11-18-12 10:17 AM

Yesterday was amazing. Up at 5:30 in the AM for our last home football game of the season, we won, and then went to a couple parties to celebrate. And after the last one started winding down, our GA got her guitar from her trunk, and started playing Sublime while the 6-7 of us that were left were singing our hearts out. Its the simple things.

Adrian_ 11-18-12 12:22 PM

Today I went out for a ride with a friend I haven't seen in a little while. After the first half hour asthma started kicking my ass. I let him go ahead then I headed home.

This time I accidentally knocked it down from the tool tray on my mechanic's stand and it fell on the patio floor cracking the brittle plastic. The first one was with the older revision where the hinge plastic (where the latches met) gave me troubles from the get go and I had to take it back for my favorite one which lasted me quite awhile (I had it long enough that I got the opportunity to refresh the innerds) until it started leaking from the plastic being eaten away by the solvent/ solvent residue and ended up being replaced with the one above.
